Agege Stadium, A No Go Area For Media Practitioners And Sport Fans

Agege Stadium is one of the standard stadia in Lagos State but it has remained the most unfriendly venue to fans and media men.

The refurbished stadium that looks beautiful haven't enjoyed the best of crowd turnout owing to the that the management of the facility have perfected strategies to frustrate fans and most especially the media who are always around to cover sporting event at the stadium.

"When I'm going to cover an event at the Agege stadium, I get a bit worried of the stress I'll be put through before gaining access into the stadium," a Journalist told SL10.ng

The stadium that is yet to be commissioned has hosted a lot of football event yet fans and Journalists have been messed up by security operatives at the stadium.

On so many occasion, Journalist have been forced into the main-bowl bare footed because the securities usually give some flimsy excuses insisting that some particular foot wear isn't good for the tracks beside the pitch but the same management of the Agege stadium allowed unrestricted access to politicians who did a political rally at the same venue.

"Even when I get into the stadium I still won't be allowed into the pitch to do my job because the securities do insist that they'll only allow Journalist with a particular kind of foot wear access in or else the only option is to go in bare footed"

The Agege stadium is hosting the Lagos FA Cup and despite series of creative moves by the sponsors and Lagos Football Association to attract fans, the battle to gain entrance into the stadium has remained a big turn off.

Warning!!

As a fan if you want to see an event live at the Agege stadium get prepared to be messed up as you make attempt to seek access through the two main entrance.

As a Journalist, if you don't know of the stadium manager or the event organizer you might be in for a strict interview that could turn into a big row.

Your identity card or accreditation tag won't in any way be considered by the securities. If you as a Journalist manage to get into the stadium then be prepared for another session of war of words as the securities at the main entrance into the pitch won't allow you to do your work probably the only option is for you to remove your foot wear and go in bare footed.

That's the experience the Agege Stadium gives to fans and Journalist alike.
