D’Tigers returnee, Stanley Okoye says it feels good to be back in the team after being away since 2015 saying he back on a mission to prove his worth and importance to the team. Speaking after their team’s final training session on Thursday before their opening game against Cote d’Ivoire on Friday,  Stanley said his mission is to prove a point and show how important he is to the team. “For me, it’s important personally to show how much I deserve it, how much I can help this team and how much important I can be as a player.” It feels good, it’s a great honor to be back. Lagos State has once again been picked as host of the 2019 FIBA Men's World Cup qualifiers 4th round between the 14th and 16th of September. The decision to award the hosting rights of the 4th window of the qualifiers was contained in a letter sent to the Nigeria Basketball Federation secretariat by FIBA Africa Secretary General, Alphonse Bile on Friday. The latest announcement has been described by many as an evidence of the growing confidence in Nigeria by the Federation of International Basketball Federation to be a major player on the African continent under the leadership of Engineer Musa Kida. Nigeria Booked qualification ticket to the 2015 FIBA Africa Basketball championship in Tunisia and the All African Games in Congo with a 63-50 victory over Burkina Faso in the 2nd Leg of the qualifiers at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National stadium in Surulere, Lagos.
