MFM FC continue smooth home run, beat Wikki Tourists

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC continued their fine home form on Wednesday at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium after claiming a 2-1 win over Wikki Tourists in one of Matchday 6 fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). MFM FC dominated early in the game with Olatunbosun Sikiru winning the first free kick of the match after three minutes of play but Okorom Stanley's effort from the free kick could not beat Wikki Tourists goalkeeper, Sani Haliru. The Olukoya Boys continued with absolute dominance creating chances at will. MFM FC took the lead in the 6th minute when Adebayo Waheed put the ball beyond the reach Wikki's goalie off an assist from Akila Jesse after a counter attacking display orchestrated by Onuwa Chukwuka. Shammah Paul Tanze was brought down by Abisoye Olawale inside MFM FC's box on 15 minutes and the centre referee sounded his whistle for a penalty. Fresh lauds CHAN 2018 title favourites

Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed has praised the resoluteness of the Super Eagles following their 2-1 win over Angola on Sunday that took Nigeria to the semi finals of the African Nations Championship for only the second time ever. “The boys have really and truly done Nigeria proud. There are still battles to conquer but we must commend them for overcoming strong oppositions right from the group stage to make it to the last four. “Of course, it is one match at a time. MFM FC survived minor road mishap

Players and Officials of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC were on Sunday evening involved in a minor road accident along Akungba, Ondo State. The minor road mishap occurred as the Olukoya Boys were returning from Jos after their Matchday 5 encounter against current NPFL champions, Plateau United which ended in a 1-0 triumph for the Jos-based team. "I thank God for what he has done for us, no life was lost, the players are in good condition and I am in good condition as well. "I am surprise that they said I am in coma, I am not. I am very okay right now," says Ilechukwu. Dalung, Ogba, Pinnick motivate CHAN Eagles ahead of Angola’s clash

Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Chief Obinna Ogba and NFF President Amaju Pinnick have pumped up the spirit of the Super Eagles ahead of Sunday’s 2018 African Nations Championship clash with Angola in Tangier.   Dalung, Ogba and Pinnick spoke during a visit to the camp of the Eagles. Nigeria finished top of Group C and take on Group D runners –up Angola at the Stade Ibn Batouta in the third quarter –final on Sunday evening.   Dalung said: “I want to appreciate you for all that you have done so far. Ex Man United scout in Nigeria for talent hunt

Former Manchester United scout, David Hobson is currently in Nigeria for a one week scouting exercise taking place at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos State, reports nigeriasportsarena.blogspot.com. The one week scouting program which had about thirteen grassroots teams from Lagos, Ibadan, Benin and Port Harcourt in participation is organised and sponsored by Nigeria League One (NLO) side, Valiant FC. "We have been working with Valiant Football Academy for sometimes and this will be our third time in Nigeria. We have already been to Enugu State and we got like two players from Enugu, they will be joining us here in Lagos," said David Hobson. "The talents we have discovered from this program will be going to Latvia to join a team over there for trials if they do well that means they will be playing in the Latvian Premier League and in the Europa League next year. So that's the pathway we are building up, that's the small pathway for now
