The President of Nigeria Mixed Martial Arts Federation (NMMAF) Ambassador Henry George has stated that Sport will thrive in Nigeria. Barely a week after the Ministry of Youth & Sports Development, announced the birth of the Mixed Martial Arts Federation in Nigeria, the President of the Federation in Nigeria, Ambassador George, has assured Nigerians the Sport will flourish. Over 2000 International Elite Runners Ready For Gold-Label Access Bank Lagos City Marathon

Over two thousand international Elite athletes from across the world have registered for the Gold-Label Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, setting a record of entries for any Marathon race on the continent of Africa. The General Manager of the race, Yussuf Alli, said at the weekend that: "The Elite entries would have been more, if the organisers had not regulated it to a barest size over a week ago.  Towards effective and efficient management of the race. The large size was expected at it's one of the effects of a  Gold-Label race. And Nilayo Sports Management is ready for it." Moses Usor Joins Austrian Bundesliga Side

LASK have signed Nigeria winger Moses Usor until December 2023 from Slavia Praha, with a option to buy permanently. The Austrian Bundesliga side are delighted to sign the 20-year-old who was trained by 36  Lion Football Club of Lagos. Usor scored six goals and provided two assists for Slavia Praha. Moses Usor, who has an outstanding basic speed, moved from his Nigerian homeland to Slavia in April last year. “I’m very happy to be here and I want to prove myself at LASK. I’ve also been to the new stadium, the Raiffeisen Arena. My goal is to play there soon and make the thousands of fans happy,” said the former 36 Lion player. Nigeria midfielder Innocent Christian has signed his first professional contract with Turkish TTF side Ankara Keciorengucu. The Barrier FC product spent the last four months in the U19 side of the team.  Operating primarily as an attacking midfielder, Christian made nine appearances in the Under-19 Turkish League, scoring six goals and providing three assists.  The youngster has been rewarded for his brilliant displays. Access Bank Lagos City Marathon Organisers Set For All Lagos Peculiarities — Bukola Olopade

The organisers of the Gold-Label Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, Nilayo Sports Management Limited,  has declared the organisation's readiness for all peculiarities of the host City, Lagos, as they conclude preparations for the February 4 Gold- Label Race, the first of its kind in Nigeria. The Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited and initiator of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon,  Honourable Bukola Olopade, disclosed Monday that, his team led by its General Manager, Yusuf Ali, is ready for all the peculliarities of Lagos to ensure the success of the first Gold-Label full marathon race in Nigeria. Olopade, noted: "At last year's race, we noticed some darkness at the starting point, which obstructed some of the opening formalitites, such that we had to delay the flag off for some minutes.  "That is why, for this year's race, the official flag-off time has been readjusted and rescheduled for 7am and not 6am as it used to be in previous races."

60,000 Runners Set For Access Bank Lagos City Marathon 2023 Elite Label, Says Yusuf Ali

The 2023 edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will see over 60,000 runners take to the Lagos roads to  compete for honours in the Elite Label race, as the status of the Lagos City Marathon rises. The General Manager of the race organised by Nigeria's first class sports management company, Nilayo Sports Management Company, Yusuf Ali, said Tuesday in Lagos, that, the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon because of special characteristics of the Elite Label race having more runners, the 2023 Lagos City Marathon will see over 60,000 first class runners compete for honours in the race scheduled for February 4, 2023. Yusuf revealed that, as the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon organises its' first ever World Atletics Elite Label Marathon in Lagos in this part of the world, the organisers would at the sametime be gunning for the attainment of a Platinuum Label race status for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
