Ikpeba Attacks Nigerian Media Tagged Journalists ‘Poor People, Bastards’

Former African Footballer of the year and ex-Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba yesterday stocked more fire on the fragile peace returning to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF with an undue attack on the media. Ikpeba who is now a member of NFF Technical committee on arrival to their meeting at the country’s football headquarters arrogantly labeled Nigerian Journalists as ‘poor People’ who deserved no respect. The incidence that led to his unwarranted comments began when he confronted a Daily Sun Reporter asking him why he reported what an executive member of NFF said on issues relating to the delay in Stephen Keshi’s contract renewal and branded him a ‘Bastard’. NNL To Kick Off By April 18th, Board Socilits For Assistance

The Board of the Nigeria National League rose from its meeting of February 9, 2015 and resolved as follows: The Board thanked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and the League Management Company (LMC) for their support to the League in the just concluded season and solicit further cooperation and assistance in the coming League season. The Board commended the Chairman of NNL and the Secretariat for the manner in which they piloted the league, especially at the most trying period of the Nation's Football. The Board noted with concern the increasing of must win attitude of clubs in the just concluded League season and warned all clubs to play by the rules in the 2014/2015 League season. Golden Eaglets' training session was taking to a new level on Wednesday with intensive ball work by the players while the goalkeepers underwent agility test. Emmanuel Amuneke, Head Coach, said it was important for the players to be put through new routine since there size is now manageable:"It is about time we start reminding ourselves of what we used to do and I want the new ones to pay special attention to what we are doing. The Under-17 national team is not a bunch of friends set up and anybody that is picked should be able to defend us very well; so serious work starts." Kogi United Gets January 2 As Screening Date

Kogi United Football Club have announced Friday, January 2, 2015 for screening of players in readiness for the new Nigeria National League, NNL, season. In a statement signed by the Team Manager of Confluence State club, Henry Ameh, the screening will last five days to discover players that would join the retained players from last campaign. “We have decided to draw back our resumption date to allow for the screening players we need to beef up the team, this will be done within the shortest period available because we want to get the best preparation for the February 7th date for the league,” said Ameh It added that the old players will join the club on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Kogi United gathered 42 points in the last concluded NNL season.

Olukoya Charges MFM FC To Win Church World Cup

History beckons as the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos battle Colombia this Sunday in the final of the Church World Cup in Goa, India. Stone Wants A Way Out Of Dolphins

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) campaigner, Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt young midfielder Stone Evbuomwan has declared that he wants to quit playing for the club. The former Abubarka Bukola Sariki Football Club (ABS FC) player didn't get enough playing time under manager Stanley Eguma during 2014 top flight season and he feels leaving the club is a better option for him. LBA 2014 Gets Hosting Date

The 2014 League Bloggers Awards (LBA) will take place at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Lagos on December 15. According to the CEO of LBA, Ojeikere Aikhoje, the award night for actors in Nigeria's top flight, the Glo Premier League, will have players, coaches and clubs vie for awards in 16 categories. Aikhoje also revealed that the nominees for the 16 categories will be made public on Friday. "The League Bloggers Awards event for this year's ending season in the Glo Premier League will come up on December 15, and we want to make it a glamorous one at that. There will be awards up for grabs in 16 categories but one of them is already concluded and there is no dispute about that. Akinwunmi In Doubt Over Second Term

Lagos State Football Association (L.S.F.A) Chairman Barr. Seyi Akinwummi who also doubles as the Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation (N.F.F) is uncertain of being re-elected into the Stata F.A chairmanship position. No doubt, the NFF vice president has done well in terms of achievement to an extent during his first tenure as the LSFA boss but more still need to be done.
