ABIA WARRIORS WARN PILLARS ON JOSHUA ENAHOLO

Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia has once again warned Kano Pillars to stay clear of one of its players Joshua Enaholo, threatening that any attempt to register the player in any guise will be resisted by the Umuahia based team. In a reminder letter to the Kano based outfit, Abia Warriors frowned at the non challant and unprofessional attitude being exhibited by  Kano Pillars on the player, saying that despite writing them severally on the status of the goalkeeper, that  Kano Pillars unprofessionally decided to keep the player in their camp and planning to go ahead to registering him with fasified documents. They frowned that this is  going on  despite the fact that  the player is still drawing his salaries from Abia Warriors. LMC sanction Kano Pillars, Katsina United and Remo Stars

  Following the recent incidents at various match centers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) the League Management Company (LMC)  yesterday imposed varying sanctions on Kano Pillars, Remo Stars and Katsina United for violating the rules governing the Nigerian top flight. Kano Pillars was cited for violations of Rules B13.18 and C1 and fined a total of N7.25m as well as other consequential fines and closure of stadium to fans until further notice. The clubs has also been directed to identify and hand over to the Police for prosecution, its match security stewards who led the attack on match officials during the Match Day 18 fixture against Akwa United.   The fine against Kano Pillars includes N250, 000 as compensation to Dr. Tunde Akinbinu in addition to any certified medical bills arising from the attack on him by the club supporters after the match day 18 fixture against Akwa United. Kano Pillars Fans Attacked Match Officials After Home Defeat

Following their 1-0 first home defeat of the season to visiting Akwa United, Kano Pillars fans descended heavily on Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match officials. A statement from Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) Public Relations Officer, Kelechi Mejuobi confirmed the report reaching nigeriasportsarena.blogspot.com. "Report from Kano has it that after the match, match officials were beaten like common criminals for only upholding the laws of the game we are all craving for in the league.      A sublime header from teenage striker Adebayo Waheed was just enough for Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club to secure their third home win of the season against Kano Pillars in one of Sunday's fixtures of Matchday 5 in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) decided at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium. It was indeed a tough encounter for Fidelis Ilechukwu's men. The visitors dominated possession in the early stage of the exchange but MFM defenders gave good account of themselves with great level of composure. MFM FC mounted pressure on the visitors' defence in the 8th minute with Onuwa Chukwuka, Sikiru Olatunbosun and Stephen Odey troubling the Sai Masu Gida defenders. Pillars to face Ebedei in Gold Cup opener

Former Nigeria Premier League Champions, Kano Pillars Football Club and Nationwide League One side, FC Ebedei of Sagamu, will be seeking a bright start to the third edition of Gold Cup Pre-Season Tournament when they face off in the tourney’s official opener this evening (Thursday) at Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode. Pillars gaffer, Mohammed Babaganaru, told newsmen in Ijebu Ode that the team is ready and competitive ahead of the tie against the mobile Oliseh Boys.  "I'm aware FC Ebedei is a very good side, with young boys and very tricky. They have very good players so we have to be careful, but I have told my players they must be prepared to give their best. My players are determined to do the job," the experienced coach said. However, former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, will perform the traditional kick off of the favourite pre-season tournament.

LMC Orders Pillars To Pay Nasarawa N2m Compensation For Poaching Ganaru

  Kano Pillars and their new Coach, Baba Ganaru have been fined separately by the League Management Company (LMC) for breaching the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Rules and Framework 2014/2015 Season. In its recent exercise off Summary Jurisdiction, the LMC cited Ganaru for breaching the Code of Conduct for Managers and Coaches as contained in Appendix B of the NPFL Rule Books by accepting to enter into negotiation with Kano Pillars without first obtaining the consent of his employer, Nasarawa United. Ganaru’s sanction for this breach includes the payment of a fine of N200, 000, forfeiture of one month salary to Nasarawa United being one month salary in lieu of notice as stipulated in his contract with the club and a further forfeiture of N5 million, being 50% of his sign-on as agreed in his contract with Nasarawa United for the 2014/2015 season since he has only served half of his full season contract with the club.  The Coach though, has a right to sub...

NPFL Teams Return To Continental Action This Weekend

Nigeria’s flagbearers in continental competition return to action this weekend, with elite division champions Kano Pillars staring down the barrel of a huge task at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Saturday afternoon.  They host Moroccan side, Moghreb Athletic Tetouane with a whole four goals deficit from the first leg at the Stade Saniat Rmel on March 21.  Chairman of the Pillars’ Champions League Campaign Committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima has expressed confidence that the Nigerian champions will overcome the huge setback and sail into the next round.  Nigeria’s other CAF Champions League representatives, Enyimba FC will depart the country on Friday for their return leg clash with Smouha FC of Egypt, scheduled for Sunday. Nigeria Professional Football League teams on the continent began their 2015 continental quest on a high as three teams out of four representing the country, Kano Pillars,  Enyimba international Footba Club, Warri Wolves won their respective games, while Dolphins Football Club lost narrowly to Equatorial Guinean side Leones Vegetarianos. The weekend continental football for Nigeria clubs saw three teams from the league scoring six goals, three out of which came from away ground in the encounter between Al Malaika FC and NPFL reigning champions, Pillars won 0-2, Warri Wolves also pipped Racing Club Bobo 0-1. Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Champions Kano Pillars began their Super 4 quest with a two nill victory over 2014 Federation Cup finalists Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt this afternoon in Abuja. Samuel Tswanya of Kano Pillars put the Sai Masu Gida in front six minutes into the game with a long range effort, three minutes later, former Enugu Rangers international striker Christian Obiozor got the second goal of the day as he shoot past Sunday Rotimi. The first 45 minutes ended with a two nill advantage for Kano Pillars. Kano Pillars gave good account of themselves in the first half, they stringed passes going forward and they continued with their game plan in the second half although they failed to score the third goal. Super 6:Dolphins To Play Pillars In Opening Match

  Dolphins will play the opening match of the Super 6 tournament against Kano Pillars on Saturday, January 24, 2015.   The tournament, scheduled to hold at the Abuja National Stadium from January 24 to February 4, 2014 will be between Dolphins, Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves, Enyimba, the National U23 and National U20 sides.   According to fixtures released by the League Management Company, Dolphins start against Pillars, then play against the U23’s on Match day 2 before taking on Enyimba on Match Day 3.   On Match Day 4, Dolphins will be up against the Nigerian U20s before finishing against Warri Wolves on Match day 6.   Meanwhile, Dolphins have formally been invited by the LMC to play in the season opening tournament that starts in Abuja on Saturday, January 24, 2015 and lasts until the 1st of February.   Thirty five players and ten officials of Dolphins will be accredited for the tournament that will involve Kano Pillars, Warri Wolves, Enyi...
