Kano Pillars Fans Attacked Match Officials After Home Defeat

Following their 1-0 first home defeat of the season to visiting Akwa United, Kano Pillars fans descended heavily on Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match officials.

A statement from Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) Public Relations Officer, Kelechi Mejuobi confirmed the report reaching nigeriasportsarena.blogspot.com.

"Report from Kano has it that after the match, match officials were beaten like common criminals for only upholding the laws of the game we are all craving for in the league.

"There reward is pummeling like babies and the referee was beaten to a state of coma, AR 2 head broken and AR1 attacked.

"Details of their safety and health status will be unfolding latter."
