TEQBALL: Habu Gumel to Inaugurate Nigeria Teqball Federation Board On Saturday

The president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) Engr Habu Ahmed Gumel will on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 inaugurates six members of the Nigeria Teqball Federation (NIGTEQ) Executive Committee at the Secretariat of the Association of the National Olympic Committee of Africa (ANOCA) in Abuja. A letter from the Nigeria Teqball Federation, signed by Secretary General, Mr. Ndudi E. Edede, said the event will hold on Saturday at the ANOCA headquarters by 11 am prompt. The members to be inaugurated includes Dr. Barr. Mrs. Victoria Nlemigbo (Imo State) to represent South East, Mrs. Patience Okosun (Edo State) to represent South-South, and Dr. Olukemi Omolola Ogunniran (Oyo State) to represent South West. Other members are Dr. Isa Egan Salifu (Kogi State) to represent North Central, Pastor Yakubu Adamu Yola (Gombe State) to represent North East, and Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Mohammad (Jigawa) representing North West. Odey Bags First Goal Of The Season, Wins POTM

  Nigerian International Stephen Odey has began the new season in Denmark on a remarkable note, scoring his first League goal and winning the Player Of The Match Award. After a successful preseason event, Odey was listed    for his team’s first league match against Odense BK, at the Nature Energy Park Stadium on Sunday, and put up an outstanding performance. The 25-year-old forward who was in action for 90 minutes put Randers ahead in the game after 10 minutes.  The former Genk player who was impressive in the match also missed a chance to bag a brace when his shot at goal hit the crossbar. Odey was voted as the Player Of The Match (POTM) after the game which ended in a 2-2 draw. Last season in the Danish Superliga, the Nigerian Striker found the back of the net on four occasions and also created an assist.  Randers FC will host Hvidovre at Randers Stadium this Sunday and Odey and his teammates will be looking forward to capitalize on their opening league result.

NPL: Club Owners Hail Gusau On Elegbeleye Return As League Chairman

NLO Expels Choice FC, Ban Officials For Two Years

With compliance with rules and regulations, the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) has expelled Choice Football Club of Ado-Ekiti from the inaugural Youth League from immediate effect. The swift action by the nation’s third-tier domestic football league came about after its Secretariat received the Coordinator and officials report from Akure Center of the on-going Nationwide Youth League. A correspondence from the NLO Media Department cited the Center Coordinator and the match officials report, that Choice FC voluntarily withdrew from the ongoing league without any reason and notification. The singular action has a series of negative impact on the integrity of the league and other participating clubs as well; thus, the Nationwide League One Secretariat hereby wishes to draw the attention of Choice FC to the implications as clearly stated in the NLO rules and regulations. The wife of the executive Governor of Lagos State, Dr Ibijoke Sanwoolu will be leading other top dignitaries to the final of the 3rd edition of Dr & Dr (Mrs) DK Olukoya Women’s Basketball championship, at the National Institute of Sport (NIS),    Lagos this Saturday from 1pm. Benue FA Board vows To Reclaim Otukpo Township Stadium

Benue State Football Association (BSFA) led by its vibrant Chairman Barrister Paul Edeh has demanded the return of the ancient Township Stadium in Otukpo to the FA, to enable teams to train and host championships. Edeh, his entire FA Executive Board Members, affiliates, and other stakeholders made the crucial demand when they stormed the then football ground in Otukpo. Coincidentally, the youths of the area who are eager to reclaim their playing pitch which was allegedly taken over by the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), a federal government agency, gathered in protest. While they protested, the FA board in unison walked around and prayed to God to grant them their heart's desire, just as they appealed to the Benue State Government for its intervention. Speaking, a popular and former Benue State-born player, Eugene Agaigbe, expressed his sadness over the state of the pitch which has been turned into an abandoned building site.
