Supreme Court Squad complete double over Spotlight

Supreme Court FC Wednesday evening defeated Spotlight fc of Kastina in one of the week 11 matches decided in the Nigeria National League, NNL. Being the second meeting for both sides, Supreme Court fondly known as Apex Boys successfully completed home and away victory over their visitors in Abuja after they convincingly grabbed vital win in newly built Karkanda stadium in Kastina. It was Johnson Michael’s lone header in the 82nd minute of the encounter that separated the two NNL club sides in the return leg played on the Area 3 astro turf. Fatai Osho: "Defeat to Spotlight was Unfair"

Head Coach of Lokoja based Nigeria National League, NNL side, Kogi United FC, Fatai Osho has described his side's 0-2 defeat to Spotlight FC in Katsina as unfair. Osho said final result of the Week Nine encounter played on Saturday as Karkanda Stadium did not reflect the performance of his players having put a lot into the game. Both sides produced a nerve wrecking moments to score in opening stages of the match but failed to utilized any as first half ended goaless. The resumption into the second stanza saw Spotlight FC gaining bit of possession as they win numerous set pieces advantage. NNL: Spotlight Player Uzo Dedicates Match Winner To God

Ike Uzo scored his first league goal of the season as he steered Spotlight to their third Nigeria National League victory, edging Jigawa Golden Stars 1-0 at the Karkanda Stadium on Saturday. The hosts pushed up the table courtesy of Uzo's first half header, which keeps the Katsina outfit one point adrift of leaders Plateau United, who picked up a 1-1 draw against Supreme Court on Friday. It was all Spotlight from the blast of the whistle, as their attackers had early chances, before Uzo broke the deadlock just fifteen minutes into the match. A loose ball was picked up after a failed clearance, allowing Solomon Kantoma to whip in a dangerous cross, which Uzo met with a powerful diving header to send the home side on their way to victory. NNL: Supreme Court Bags First NNL Away Victory Against Spotlight FC

It was celebration of sorts inside Karkanda stadium located within Katsina state capital, venue of one of the Match day 3 of Nigeria National League; NNL after Supreme Court FC of Abuja spanked Spotlight FC 3-2 in a densely hot weather on Sunday. The shema boys were the same team that held Super Eagles turtored by Stephen Keshi to a goaless draw five days ago on the same ground. Though the game against their League foes began with the home team dominating affairs in the first 20 minutes of play, the Apex Boys as Abuja based side are fondly called took over missing flurry of chances before Spotlight got an opener in the 38 minutes. Uzor Praises Teammate After Fed Cup Progression

Spotlight FC attacking midfielder Ikechukwu Uzor has praised his team mates for their level of maturity in the 3-1 victory over Idah United in the round of 64 of the Federation Cup. A brace from Usule Martins and one goal netted by Uzor ensured that the first half ended 3-0 in favour of Spotlight at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium. Idah United grabbed a consolation in the dying moments of the game. “The lads were fantastic, they showed maturity against the non-league side. We are happy to have progressed to the next round of the competition,” Uzor was quoted by Nigerian League reporter Ademetan Abayomi. “We have to keep playing in this competition,” the midfielder continued. “Spotlight have a very good spirit and we will continue to show it. Flying Eagles To Play Spotlight In Test Game Tomorrow

The Flying Eagles will take on Nigeria National League (NNL) side Spotlight of Katsina in another test game on Wednesday. The match will be played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna and it will kick-off by 11am. Spotlight, who have defender Mustapha Abdullahi with the Nigeria U20 side, are gearing up for promotion to the Nigeria top flight in the forthcoming season. The Katsina club, who placed 10th on the Nigeria National League Division A table, have made several top signings to match their ambitions. Spotlight have been on a pre-season training tour of Kaduna and have so far won three and drawn three of their matches. Their own loss thus far was to Jamba Aacdemy, who beat them 2-1. The Flying Eagles, who are getting set for the 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal in March, are also likely to battle league champions Kano Pillars by the weekend also in Kaduna.
