The Lagos-based team gaffer who has donated a token to this cause believes Bamigbelu Ademola Origa will overcome the challenges if Nigerians will come to his aid by supporting him with their donations. NPFL Needs Cooperate Nigeria To Be More Attractive - Irabor

The Chief Executive Officer of the League management company ,LMC,Honorable Nduka Irabor has declared that the Nigeria Professional Football League,NPFL needs the investment from cooperate Nigeria to be more attractive and reach the standards we will all be proud of.   This is coming on the trails of huge cooperate Nigeria investments in foreign sporting activities. He made this assertion at the symposium organised by the Lagos state chapter of the Sports writer Association of Nigeria ,Lagos SWAN, to mark this year Lagos SWAN week.   Irabor affirmed that over 100 billion naira leaves the shores of the country on yearly basis from the purse of cooperate Nigeria sponsoring foreign sporting activities especially football.   "From our study with the central bank of Nigeria 100 billion naira goes out to sponsor foreign sporting activities especially football on yearly basis from cooperate Nigeria" .   But how can we make NPFL attractive to the "foreign investing"

The U15 National Team of Nigeria, known as Future Eagles, will on Wednesday and Thursday play two international friendly matches against their Moroccan counterparts in Rabat, Morocco. Both teams will slug it out at the National Football Centre, Rabat starting from 4pm on Wednesday, and again clash at the same venue on Thursday from mid-day. The U15 squad and their officials arrived in Rabat on Sunday, and have had three training sessions at the National Football Centre ahead of the friendly games. The Technical Committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation has announced that the Women's senior National team D'Tigress will be in close camping for the FIBA Afrobasket Women's Championship until their departure on the 16th of August 2017. This became imperative following the request by the team’s Technical crew led by Sam Vincent with just few days to start of the championship which starts on the 18th. The decision became imperative following their third friendly against Raptors Men Basketball Club on Saturday in which they lost by 78points to 53 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Lagos. According to the federation, the decision is to beef up preparations and perfect their technical and tactical plans for the championship after some lapses were noticed at the end of their third game. WOMEN BASKETBALL: Raptors beat D'Tigress in test match

Nigeria's D’Tigress lost to Raptors Basketball club of Lagos 51-71 in their first test match ahead of the 2017 Afrobasket Women competition. The game played Wednesday evening inside the Indoor Sports Hall of the Lagos National stadium was witnessed by Vice President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Babs Oguande and two board members, Col Samuel Ahmedu (rtd) and Felix Awogu including an impressive turnout of fans. The Division 1 side led by Charles Ibeziako led with 10 points in the opening minutes of the 1st quarter, a prelude to the loss by the national team handled on the night by Peter Ahmedu. Former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammed Sani Saleh has donated a Volkswagen Sharon bus and a cash sum of One Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#1,500,000) as winning prizes for the maiden edition of Peace and Unity Cup and tagged 'General Catch Them Young'. The grass-root tourney will be hosted in Kaduna town which is regarded as one of the nation's hub of football. Senator Saleh, who represented Kaduna Central in the Red Chamber, said: "It is my little way of promoting grass-root football and engage the youths, to shun any form of social vices." Osun United Football Club, will face Fosla Academy, Abuja on Tuesday evening in a friendly match at the Oshogbo Township Stadium.
