NNPC/SHELL Cup Knockout Rounds Takes Center Stage In Ijebu-Ode.

This was revealed at the Media Centre of the Teslim Balogun stadium which played host to the media conference of the tournament. This is the tournaments 19th edition and all hands are on deck to make it a success as it has always been. The preliminary rounds began in May; during which the states competitions where held and completed, and ended on June 3rd. And to avoid 3rd Term examination, Knockout rounds and finals have been scheduled to run from June 15 - June 29 in Ijebu-Ode. To expose the players to latest training techniques, Coaching clinics will also be held by Feyenoord Rotterdam's Youth Academy, for the four semifinalist between June 24 - June 26. The school coaches won't be left out too. As there'll also be  coaching sessions for the game masters and coaches from the champions of the 36 state and FCT to ensure that skills acquired are spread across the country. NNPC/Shell Cup 2015 Takes Center Stage In Ibadan This Weekend

There is going to be a football festival this weekend. It promises to be a showcase of some of the best youth football in the country. For the first time in the 17-year history of the most coveted secondary schools football championship in Nigeria, the NNPC/Shell Cup, the 10 schools that have qualified for the quarter-finals will assemble in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for a genuine feast of youth football. This new format is been adopted as a bridge for the championship in response to the current political and security conditions in the country by the organizers, the Nigeria School Sports Federation, (NSSF). The over 200 students and their school officials will be housed within the military cantonment at Ojoo barracks where all the matches will also take place over a period of two days – Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17.  The schools that have qualified for this round are from Adamawa, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Kano, Katsina, Nassarawa, Ogun, Rivers,  and Sokoto States...

NNPC/Shell Cup: KFA Disqualified For Encroachment

Kwara Football Academy Secondary School has been disqualified from this year’s edition of the NNPC/Shell Cup soccer competition among all secondary schools in Nigeria. The school, which won the national competition three years ago was disqualified for what was termed misconduct and violation of the rules and regulations of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) organized competition. The said act was said to have been perpetrated in their semi-final match of the competition against Oro Grammar School, at Omupo Grammar School on Wednesday 11th, 2015. According to reports, coaches and other supporting officials of the school encroached on the pitch during the game, which is against Rule 12 of the competition. The school was also said to have come to the venue with supporters, who later became unruly. The match has therefore, been awarded to Oro Grammar School, Oro, who have been cleared to play Government Secondary School, Bacita in the final today, at Bishop Smith Memoria...
