Shinshinma scores as MFM FC beat 3SC 1-0

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC claimed their first Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) triumph over Shooting Stars Sport Club (3SC), courtesy of a strike from Shinshinma Monday. The Matchday 24 of the NPFL tagged the Southwest derby played at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium on Sunday lived up to expectation for the fans of both teams but the hosts who were more determined outclassed the Oluyole Warriors and claimed their first-ever derby victory against their rivals. Shooting Stars started the encounter on a high and controlled the game for few minutes. Abu Azeez tested MFM FC's Folarin Abayomi with a shot but the goalkeeper punched the ball to corner. Wasiu Jimoh won a free kick for the visitors in the 9th minute of the match but his effort went off target. NPFL leading scorer, Stephen Odey, had a chance to open the scoring for MFM FC in the 14th minute of the exchange but his effort was deflected for a corner. SHOOTING STARS BEAT SUNSHINE IN CRUCIAL DERBY

For the second time in as many games, the South Western derby between Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars was devoid of crowd troubles. The first leg in Akure was the birth of the new era which extended to the end Week 22 of the NPFL between the two teams on Sunday. The game started on a high tempo with homers condemned to win going by their recent indecent results. Fatai Amoo paraded a crack team spearheaded by Sunday Faleye, supported by Ajani Ibrahim and Tayo Adebogun;  with equally experienced reserves of debutants Abu Azeez and Wasiu Jimoh. Also, Sunshine Stars started the match with three of our old players Tope Orelope, Ebitimi Agogu and Adesina Thomas as expected. The game began with a Sunshine Stars kick off albeit it was all Shooting Stars affairs for the first 10 minutes leaving fans excited by the crisp displays of Tayo Adebogun and Sunday Faleye. LMC Suspends FC Taraba Official, Fines 3SC 500,000, Ikhana 100,000 And Cautions Enyimba

Three Clubs, a Coach and a Welfare Officer have been sanctioned by the League Management Company (LMC) for varying violations of the Rules and Framework in recently concluded games of the 2014/15 season.   An official of FC Taraba, Fada Dennis who serves as the Welfare Officer has been suspended from all Glo Premier League activities for the remaining games of the season. The club officer was cited for assaulting Referee Bala Mohammed in Makurdi after the Match Day 14 fixture against Shooting Stars. The LMC charged also FC Taraba with failure to provide adequate security on Match Day 14 after their match against Shooting Stars which allowed unauthorized persons to gain access to restricted area and which led to the attack on Referee Bala Mohammed.   The sanctions on the club includes playing one home game behind closed doors, fine of N500, 000 and payment of N250, 000 compensation to Referee Mohammed.   Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) was fined N500, 000 for not p...

Sunshine Stars forward, Newman Musa is full of confidence going into the first leg of the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) South West derby coming up on Sunday in Akure between Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and Sunshine Stars. The former Nembe City hitman  has been a blessing in disguise for Sunshine Stars attack since he joined them during  the second stanza of last season transfer window and helped the Akure Gunners retained their top flight status. Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side newcomers Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan beat Kogi United 4-3 on penalties after they laboured  to register a goal  during the regular period yesterday at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode in a pre-season tournament tagged Gold Cup. The Nigeria National League (NNL) campaigner Kogi United broke the deadlock after 25 minutes of play through their influential midfielder, Destiny Ashadi who was a delight to watch in the encounter. 3SC goalkeeper Kola Ige was the hero of the day as he made great saves which could have resulted into goals for the Wada Boys. The experienced club manager stated that these people are after their own interest at the detriment of the club interest. “I'm going through hell from some elements at the club. "When I came on board there was nothing like board members but when we were approaching the mid season, four board members joined us out of which we had a chairman. After a week another five board members also joined too.
