Shooting Stars Will Fall In Akure - Newman

Sunshine Stars forward, Newman Musa is full of confidence going into the first leg of the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) South West derby coming up on Sunday in Akure between Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and Sunshine Stars.


The former Nembe City hitman  has been a blessing in disguise for Sunshine Stars attack since he joined them during  the second stanza of last season transfer window and helped the Akure Gunners retained their top flight status.


Newman disclosed in a chat on Saturday that his team will fall their South West arch rival in one of the most talked about NPFL derby fixtures on Sunday, he believes that the Oluyole Warriors are no threat to his team title ambition.


"The game of football can be very funny at times because anything can happen but concerning the South West derby we will fall 3SC by God's grace.


"The team Spirit in camp is very high because we want to turn the table around after tomorrow's game, am confident tomorrow will be our day, like said earlier on in a game of football anything can happen but I don't see Shooting Stars as a threat to our title ambition this season.



"I believe we and our supporters are going to smile by the end of 90 minutes tomorrow" the former Bolowotan Football club of Ikorodu revealed. 


In his first stint in the apex league in the 2013/2014 football season Newman Musa netted 13 goals, scored seven goals  in Nembe City's colour and hit the target on six occasions for Sunshine Stars, he has not found the back of the net this season but has already made three assists.


Sunshine Stars are third on the 20 teams NPFL ladder with 13 points from seven matches, a win in this cracker will see them go top of the table if the likes of Giwa and Gabros failed to win thier respective away matches. 3SC on the other hand maintained the 15 spot on the log after accruing seven points from six league games.
