Akinwunmi Assures NNWL Of Maximum Support As League Kicks Off On Thursday

The Nigeria Football Federation (NNF) first Vice President, Bar, Seyi Akinwunmi disclosed yesterday in Lagos at the media presentation conference of the Nigeria Nationwide League (NNWL) that the country football body will give total support to all the level of football leagues in Nigeria.  



Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi, who represented the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick at the event applauded the organisers of the third level league in Nigeria for a job well done, and stated that the NNWL is the bedrock of Nigeria football as he promised them of maximum support be it in cash or in kind.



The first Vice president began by saying "It's a real pleasure to see the NNWL doing a lot of positive things. Too many times in recent past there has been some negative reports about this league. The truth is without the NNWL there really won't be football in Nigeria because that's the first base where talent are harvest.



"The NNWL is a representation of grassroots football and must be supported wholly by the NFF and I can state here that the NNWL will get the support of the NFF. Not just the morale support but financial support as well"



"The change we all clamour for will happen in football as well and the grassroot is the best place to start with. Practically, the national team players started form this league but their root is rarely talked about. So it's important to get things right from the grassroot,"Bar. Akinwunmi concluded. 



The 2014/2015 NNWL season will commence on this Thursday May 7,2015 with corporate organisations partnership which will run for two years.

FIFA Hit Banik Ostrava With Transfer Ban Over 36 Lion's Outstanding Transfer Fees

FIFA have sent the Czech Football Association a letter in which they slammed a transfer ban on Banik Ostrava as a result of outstanding dues to 36 Lion Football Club. The ban will only be lifted when Banik pay the outstanding dues they owe the Lagos based club for the transfer of Tijani Muhamed on 1st July 2023. The letter received didn’t specify the number of transfer windows that Banik will be banned from, but only clarified that it is due to the former Flying Eagles striker deal with the Czech Republic top flight team. Muhamed, 23, is a product of 36 Lion. He joined Slavia Praha from Banik during last summer's transfer window for €1.26m according to Transfermkt.com.
