Ogunjobi set NPFL target with Go Round FC

  … Optimistic of an away win at Vandrezzer FC Kamoru Ogunjobi has aired his ambition to help Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Go Round FC secure promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season. The defender has become a talismanic figure at Omoku featuring in his club 14 NNL games with two assists, the former My People FC defender has accumulated 1,260 minutes of action this term. Go Round FC are placed second in Group B1 with 26 points from 14 League games, four points above third-placed team Dynamite FC and 9 points behind Group leaders, Shooting Stars. Akinwunmi lauds FCAAN efforts at improving Nigeria coaches

  First Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi has commended the efforts of Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN) in enhancing the capacity of Football Coaches in Nigeria.   Akinwunmi, who is also the Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, made this known on a visit to the FCAAN ‘C’ course ongoing in the Ondo State capital, Akure on Tuesday. “I am impressed with what I have seen here because there is nothing to trump capacity –building and capacity –enhancement in any profession. Training the trainers is an important aspect of football and other sports, and what FCAAN is doing can be seen in this light.”   The seven-day programme which started on Monday has about 100 coaches in attendance. Akinwunmi spent time with the participants during match analysis session and was impressed by what he saw. Sports Minister charges Caretaker Committees to be Focused

The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development *Mr Sunday Dare* has charged the newly Inaugurated Caretaker Committees  of the 30 Sports Federation  to be focused  in the best interest  of  the Nation. Speaking  during their inauguration in Abuja on Tuesday,  the Minister said "The dissolution became necessary because of the expiration of your  tenures.     It is also important because of the Tokyo Olympics which is less than 90 days away.This requires that all hands are on deck  because continuity is necessary to ensure preparations for the Games are not hampered in any way. The Caretaker Committees were thus specially selected to reflect our aspirations towards podium appearances at the Tokyo Olympics." Minister visits US-bound athletes, Team departs on Thursday

As preparations for the  Tokyo 2020 Olympics intensifies, the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr Sunday Dare on Monday 3rd May visited the Athletes who have been training at the Moshood National Stadium Abuja  preparatory  to their departure  for USA on Thursday to participate  in relay Qualifiers. While addressing the Athletes, the  Minister urged them to remain focused in unity.  "I have been  monitoring  your preparations  and have met most of you personally. Whether you are  Homebased or foreign based, Team Nigeria is one hence  we  decided to take you to the US to join others  so that you can blend  as a team" The  Minister showered  encomium on some athletes, saying the future is bright for  Nigeria to have  podium performances at the Olympics. He commended the performance  of  Tobi Amusan who got adopted few weeks ago and  who  now  has the second World best  time,  Grace Nwokocha and Adegoke Enoch who  got adopted by the Minister  under the Adopt a
