GRASSROOT FOOTBALL:Ansarudeen Win 2015 Kogi FA U13 Cup Champions

Ansarudeen Primary School,Lokoja U13 boys defeated Saint Luke Primary School, Lokoja 2-1 to emerge champions of the 2015 Kogi U13 Football Association Cup played at the Kogi Confluence Stadium on Friday.  Goals from Muhammed Sani and Mamud Ali helped the Ansarudeen boys to come back from a goal behind to overcome their Saint Luke counterparts despite Sulieman Yakubu's lone strike in Lokoja. Yakubu strike Saint Luke Primary School into an early lead before Mohammed Sani levelled before the break to ensure the half time scoreline ends at 1-1. In the second half, it was Ali's solitary effort that settled the encounter helping Ansarudeen snatch the winner to ensure his side claimed the coveted maiden trophy with 2-1 victory. NNPC/Shell Cup Semi Finalists Hit Lagos

Foremost grassroots football championship NNPC/Shell Cup Semi Finalists are expected to be in Lagos State this evening  for the semifinal games billed to hold on Friday and Sunday, May 22 and 24, 2015, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Four secondary school teams from different four States in Nigeria made the semi final cut. They are Edo State - Rezheight High School from Benin, Kano State - Government Secondary School, Gwale. Imo State - Rochas Foundation College, Ogboko. Kastina State - Government Day Secondary School, Kofar Yandaka. A statement from one the organisers, Akinwale Olushola revealed that the semi finalists are expected to be in Lagos this evening for preparation toward the grand -finale and for the Coaching Clinic with Feyenoord Coaches. The football festival semi final draws of  will take place in Lagos on Thursday, 21st of May, 2015.

NNPC/Shell Cup: KFA Disqualified For Encroachment

Kwara Football Academy Secondary School has been disqualified from this year’s edition of the NNPC/Shell Cup soccer competition among all secondary schools in Nigeria. The school, which won the national competition three years ago was disqualified for what was termed misconduct and violation of the rules and regulations of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) organized competition. The said act was said to have been perpetrated in their semi-final match of the competition against Oro Grammar School, at Omupo Grammar School on Wednesday 11th, 2015. According to reports, coaches and other supporting officials of the school encroached on the pitch during the game, which is against Rule 12 of the competition. The school was also said to have come to the venue with supporters, who later became unruly. The match has therefore, been awarded to Oro Grammar School, Oro, who have been cleared to play Government Secondary School, Bacita in the final today, at Bishop Smith Memoria...

With the 2014 FA U15 Kiddies Amateur league going on festive break this weekend, Two points seperate the top 6 sides in a very competitive league after 7 weeks of action in various football fields across Lagos.  With a total 13 Points and a league best record of 4 wins 2 losses and a solitary draw, Leo Football Academy gained top spot on the FAKA league table thanks to a 4-1 win away from home at Bora Football Academy Egbeda in the last round of matches, as week 6 leaders Real FC slipped 2-0 on the road to Shobande at the Lagos Island Sura lafiaji field to fall 1 point short off the table toppers.  Sharp Striker Fc Ikotun Egbe capitalised on Real FC's slip up with a narrow 1-0 victory of over struggling Star Light Academy Oshodi to move level on points with Real FC (12 points), but with an inferior goals scored tally after tying on goals aggregate with +2.
