FIFA U20 Word Cup: Makanjuola gets starting shirt in make or mar game against Ukraine

With just few days to the elections, there are claims by some stakeholders that the incumbent board led by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi has resorted to vote buying and intimidation in his bid to win a third term mandate. The Flying Eagles came from behind to record the 1-1 draw courtesy of an equalizer from Tijani Mohammed after a spirited performance from the Nigerian team. Emeka and Success made Paul Aigbogun's final 21-man list for the FIFA Under 20 World Cup coming up in Poland later this month after their impressive displays in Germany. The test game which is expected to kick off by 4:00pm Nigerian time will   enable Aigbogun to finalize his preparation ahead of the big event in Poland. Nigeria Under 23 star, Olabiran Muyiwa shone like a million stars on Sunday as FC Tambov booked a spot in the Russian Premier League after losing 2-0 to FC Khimki at the Khimki Arena. Despite losing the Matchday 36 encounter of the Russian Football National League (RFNL) 2-0 to Khimki over the weekend, Tambov still gained promotion to the Russian top league after Shinnik beat third placed team, FC Tom Tomsk 1-0. Before the match against Khimki, FC Tomsk had 60 points while PFC Sochi, the league leaders and Tambov who were second on the log had 67 points. The Rev Ben Ugbuji Tourney in Ogoja, Cross Rivers State has achieved an  agreement with Nigeria Nation-Wide League One (NLO) side, FC Ebedei. The grassroot football championship is in honour of late Rev Ben Ukpafe Ugbuji, who until his death was an Economist, elder statesman, retired perm sec, a Sportsman, retired Grade One Referee, National officer of the Nigeria Referees Association, Match Commissioner and CAF instructor. Organisers of the tourney informed that the  collaboration with FC Ebedei (partners of FC Midtylland Denmark) is aimed at scouting  local talents for local and international exposure.  The scouting event will see eight (8) Under 20 football teams battling for honours from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th of May, 2019.
