Olabiran stars as FC Tambov book Russian Premier League spot

Nigeria Under 23 star, Olabiran Muyiwa shone like a million stars on Sunday as FC Tambov booked a spot in the Russian Premier League after losing 2-0 to FC Khimki at the Khimki Arena.


Despite losing the Matchday 36 encounter of the Russian Football National League (RFNL) 2-0 to Khimki over the weekend, Tambov still gained promotion to the Russian top league after Shinnik beat third placed team, FC Tom Tomsk 1-0.


Before the match against Khimki, FC Tomsk had 60 points while PFC Sochi, the league leaders and Tambov who were second on the log had 67 points.


Olabiran's team needed a win to seal their passage to the Russian main league but they benefited from Tom’s 1-0 defeat and claimed one of the available slots in the Russian Premier League.


“I am really excited because of this promotion to the main Russian League,” the exciting winger told nigeriasportarena.blogspot.com.


He continued “ Like I said on Saturday, we have really worked hard for this promotion and I’m happy that God crowned our efforts.”

FIFA Hit Banik Ostrava With Transfer Ban Over 36 Lion's Outstanding Transfer Fees

FIFA have sent the Czech Football Association a letter in which they slammed a transfer ban on Banik Ostrava as a result of outstanding dues to 36 Lion Football Club. The ban will only be lifted when Banik pay the outstanding dues they owe the Lagos based club for the transfer of Tijani Muhamed on 1st July 2023. The letter received didn’t specify the number of transfer windows that Banik will be banned from, but only clarified that it is due to the former Flying Eagles striker deal with the Czech Republic top flight team. Muhamed, 23, is a product of 36 Lion. He joined Slavia Praha from Banik during last summer's transfer window for €1.26m according to Transfermkt.com.
