TEQBALL: Nigeria Seals Q/fianl Men’s Singles Ticket Of African Beach Games In Tunisia

The duo of Victor Oyemade and Funsho Samson cruised into the Quarter-Finals of the Teqball Men's  Singles event with a 12 - 0, 12 - 0 win over Septime Guenole and Chedrac Alban Ahomadi of Benin Republic and Abdulai Bangura and Christian Lavelie of Sierra Lome 12 - 1, 12 - 3 to top Group C. Speaking with NIGTEQ media after the game, Funsho re-echoed their commitment to settle for nothing but the qualifications for the World Beach Games and the Gold medals. "We have said it before and we are saying it again, it is the Gold and qualification to the World Beach Games or nothing". Victor Oyemade on the other hand acknowledged that the opponents are not a match for them. "Our opponents so far are learners and did not pose any threat to us at all", Oyemade stated. The Mixed Doubles event will start later this afternoon from 3pm local time with Funsho Samson pairing with Rashidat Salau.

  The former president of the Wheelchair Basketball Federation of Nigeria (WBFN), Chief Bukola Olopade, has announced a total prize monies of N2.2million for winners at the BetKing 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball National Championship. Olopade's gesture dazzled all the participating teams from across Nigeria participating in the championship. The Nigerian Teqball delegation arrived Hammamet, a city located in the South-Eastern section of Cap Bon a popular destination for swimming and water sports and is one of the primary tourist destinations in Tunisia hosting the 2023 African Beach Games. The Athletes and team official have already settled at the El Mouradi El Menzah Hotel and will have a lite walkout later in this evening at the Yasmine Hammamet beach (Teqball Arena) and a full training session tomorrow. The Nigeria Teqball contingent to the African Beach Games Hammamet 2023 made up of three Athletes and a Coach departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on board Asky to Lome-Accra and Turkish Airlines to Istanbul-Tunis. The delegation which is led by the Head of Technical & Education of the Federation Mr. Abdul Bajeh is estimated to arrive Tunis by 9:20am on Wednesday 21st June 2023. World number 31, African number 2 and Nigerian number 1 Victor Ademoye OYEMADE will compete for a slot for the Men’s Single in the next World Beach Games slated for Bali, Indonesia, from the 5th to 12th of August 2023.  Oyemade will also partner with Funsho Funto SAMSON to compete for the Men’s Doubles event. Reign Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Rivers United, defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 in to end their 26 games unbeaten streak in the Nigerian topflight, in Lagos at the ongoing Championship Playoff. Stanley Eguma’s men who have not    lost any match in the NPFL Championship Playoff at the Mobolaji Johnson (MJ) Arena, Onikan, Lagos, claimed a 2-1 win over Insurance courtesy of goals from Maurice Chukwu and Onoja Joseph. Prior to today’s fixture, the Edo-based team failed to record a win in their last three games played at the championship,    but still maintained their undefeated run in the league.   Super Eagles star trio of Paul Onuachu, Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika on Thursday paid a surprise visit to their boyhood club, FC Ebedei, Apele, Sagamu in Ogun State. Former African champions,Enyimba International FC, were forced to a 2-2 draw by Remo Stars in the opening match of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Championship Playoff, on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.   The entertaining match lived up to expectations as both teams created chances and thrilled their fans with brilliant display in the first 45 minutes which ended goalless for the two sides.
