Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10km Race: Bukola Olopade Is The Best Organiser Of Sporting Events In Nigeria, Says Oba Of Egbaland
As part of activities enshrined in the World Press Conference of the 2023 Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10KM Race, Organizers of the event paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo this Wednesday.
The team was accompanied by representatives of the headline sponsors, Lotus Bank, the representative of the Ogun State government, Mrs. Iyabo Rotimi, Members of the fourth Estate of the realm, well wishers and people from different walks of Life.
The Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Chief Bukola Olopade who is the Osi Asoju Oba of Egbaland explained that the Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10KM race which is scheduled for September 9, 2023 is forming an integral part of the week long Birthday celebration of Egba's foremost Monarch.
He said it has become a tradition to visit the Alake prior to the race, as his blessings will in no small measure go a long way in helping to plan and stage a very successful event.
The former commissioner for youth and sports in the Gateway State explained that the choice of Lotus Bank and other sponsors was strategic as the organizers made it a point of duty to associate with illustrious sons and daughters of Egbaland, as well as companies with a touch of the rich Egba Heritage.
While welcoming everyone to the ancient Alake Palace, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, described Chief Bukola Olopade as the best organizer of sporting events across Nigeria, the highly revered Monarch gave his words that he will always be part of every event floated by the Egba High Chief.
He gave his Royal Blessings and appreciated the organizers for further putting Egbaland on the World Map with the prestigious event.
In his closing remarks, the Osi of Egbaland, Chief Bode Mustapha expressed gratitude to the visiting team and urged everyone to look forward to a very befitting Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10km race in September.
The Palace's mouthpiece, Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland, Chief Lai Labode was also present alongside other members of the King's royal cabinet.
