Osun State Governor unveils Unuanel as Osun United Head Coach

State Government of Osun has charged the management and technical crew of Osun United Football Club to instil discipline in the team especially the players ahead of the commencement of the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League. The state Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, stated this while unveiling David Samson Unuanel as Head Coach of Osun United. Unuanel 54, was officially unveiled the Head Coach of Osun United by the immediate past Commissioner for Special Needs, Social Needs, and Sports, Comrade Biyi Odunlade, and Chairman Osun Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi. Governor Oyetola who was represented by Odunlade urged the technical crew to select the best players to prosecute the league and urged the team to be appreciative of good gesture by turning in good result. Ogunjobi who was part of the committee that appointed Unuanel, said the coach was selected on merit after screening and the management of the club had made a right choice in his selection. ...

SWAN named Omoyele Osun Utd player of the season

Osun United Football Club striker Tosin Omoyele, has been named player of the season by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (State of Osun chapter) at their meritorious awards ceremony in Oshogbo, Sunday afternoon. Omoyele was honoured at the Atlantis Civic center after netting 15 goals for the Omoluabi Giants in the Bet9ja Nigeria National League.. The prolific gifted striker has been linked with a move away from Osun United, but was delighted to pick up the award ahead of the team captain Hakeem Olalere and defender Kehinde Adeyemi, who were also listed for the award. Omoyele, played a pivotal role for  Omoluabi Giants  at the just concluded season with his side finishing seventh spot on the Southern Conference table log.

Osun Utd to play FOSLA in a friendly on Tuesday

Osun United Football Club, will face Fosla Academy, Abuja on Tuesday evening in a friendly match at the Oshogbo Township Stadium. The Omoluabi Giants technical crew will utilize the friendly against the Sani Lulu Boys to try out different tactical formations and also work on set pieces. Fosla will on Wednesday evening battle against Osun FA U-17 at the Oshogbo Township Stadium. Osun United spokesman Tunde Shamsudeen, said the friendlies were put together by FCT Football Association and Osun Football Association.

Ex-international Duke Udi, Monday afternoon resigned from his position as head coach of Osun United Football Club. The fans and players of the Omoluabi Giants, are in a state of shock following Udi's resignation. The news comes like a bolt of lightning on a sunny day for the Nigeria National League side. “I have decided to resign from my position as head coach of Osun United Football Club,” Udi said.  “I deeply appreciate my time with the team and I want to thank all the fantastic people who make Oshogbo a fantastic place to work for me.” Osun United Management Committee led by Engineer Jimoh Olayemi, held an emergency meeting after receiving Udi's resignation letter, wished him the very best in his future endeavours and will name a substantive head coach that will fill the vacuum created soon.

NNL: Robbers attack Osun Utd players, officials

Players and officials of Bet9ja Nigeria National League side, Osun United Football Club were attacked by men of the underworld on Tuesday night at the Ore/Ondo/Akure Expressway. The team driver was mostly brutalized in the incidence as he is at the emergency unit of the General Hospital in Ondo-town. Most of the players are nursing varying degree of injuries among who are goalkeeper Ayo Ojo, Olabisi Olagunju, as they were butchered by the robbers. Osun United Football Club impressively defeated Go Round Football Club 2-1 in one of the Week 8 contest of the Nigeria National League at the Oshogbo Township Stadium to keep their 100 percent home win streak. Osun United Football Club continued their fine run of form, defeating Nnewi United Football Club 2-0 on Saturday at the Oshogbo Township Stadium in one of the Week 6 matche of the Nigeria National League.  Coach Duke Udi, featured the same starting line-up that secured a valuable point away from home against First Bank FC on Wednesday.
