Eguma Look Up To Pyagbara To Replace Emem Eduok

Image
Dolphins head coach, Stanley Eguma is already prepared for life without Emem Eduok in the coming football season as he tipped Christian Pyagbara to replace his goal machine.   As the club prepares for Saturday’s 2nd leg 1st round CAF Confederation Cup clash against Leones Vegetarianos FC in Port Harcourt, Eguma extols the virtues of Emem saying his departure is a big loss for the club.   “In football, players come and go and clubs eventually replace those who depart,” Eguma said.   “The thing is that Emem does not fall in the category of players that you can easily replace.   “We tried to get Peter Ebimobowei soon after his departure was confirmed but unfortunately for us and fortunately for Peter he secured another deal outside the country which was beneficial to him,” Eguma said.   Dolphins eventually settled for Christian Pyagbara who crossed from city neighbours, Sharks to team up with the duo of Ifeanyi ...

Eduok Transfer Saga: Anyansi Assures Thorough Investigation

Image
Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu has stated that investigation into the controversy over the transfer of Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt star Emem Eduok will be thorough, and that no one found culpable will be treated as a sacred cow.   “The NFF President has explained clearly why the boy was sent out of camp, and I believe that people fully understand why we needed to take that action.   “I am on the issue as directed by the NFF President, and I can assure you that all those who are eventually indicted in the matter will be sanctioned. The messy transfer is already generating negative publicity for Nigeria football and we are uncomfortable with that.”   The Enyimba FC boss has until Thursday to report back to the NFF Executive Committee on his findings.   “My report will be ready. I have reached out extensively, asked questions and have been briefed. We are not going to spare anyon...

Pinnick Sends Eduok Out Of Eagles’ Camp

Image
President of Nigeria Football Federation, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick has ordered Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt star Emem Eduok out of the camp of Super Eagles’ B, preparing for two international friendly matches in the United Arab Emirates.   “We are not happy with the cloud of controversy over his transfer issue and it is a terrible distraction to the team and Nigeria football generally.   “Telling him to leave the camp does not mean we are indicting him. We will carry out an investigation and whoever is found guilty, be he/she an agent or player manager or an official of his club, will be duly sanctioned,” Pinnick said at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.   The NFF President has mandated the Chairman of Technical and Development Committee, Chief Felix Anyansi-Agwu to conduct an investigation into the matter and report back to the Executive Committee at its meeting in Lagos on Thursday.   “We have to do this (send the boy out ...

Eduok To Miss Dream Team Screening

Image
2014 Federation Cup top scorer, Dolphins’ FC goal poacher, Emem Eduok will not be part of Wednesday’s screening exercise for the National U23 team in Abuja.   Eduok was listed in Batch B of a group of players to strut their stuff for places in next year’s All Africa Games and Olympic Games team but it seems that will not happen for now.   In Sunday’s Federation Cup final against Enyimba, Eduok received a knock after an Enyimba defender went hard on him in the second half.   Though he was able to complete the game, he may have to rest his legs as he left the pitch after the game limping.   “I will show myself to the coaches in Abuja as a sign of good faith so they know I want to be part of the team. I would have loved to be part of the training but I do not want to aggravate the injury which does not seem very serious right now,” Eduok said.   “I want to believe that Samson Siasia and the rest of the coa...

Emem Eduok Set New NPFL Record With Double Hat-trick

Image
Dolphins scored six goals without conceding against Nembe City in Port Harcourt on Wednesday to move back to 4th on the log in the Nigeria Professional Football League thanks to Emem Eduok for the six goals. The big story was striker, Emem Eduok scoring all six goals in the game to break the Nigerian League record of 4 goals a game and set his own.   In the 14th minute, while backing the post, Eduok turned around and volleyed a loose ball home to open scores. By the 22nd minute, it was 2-0 as Eduok dribbled his way past the defence and blasted home. In the 31st minute Victor Alegbe was brought down in the box and Emem stepped up to score the penalty and get his hattrick, the first time he would take a penalty this season. Half time ended 3-0 to Dolphins. Five minutes into the second half, Eduok was freed by Adamu and his first shot was blocked by the goalkeeper but he rushed in to get the rebound and score to equal a goal scoring record held by Victor Ezeji in 2007 for Dolph...

Emem Eduok Powers Dolphins To Third Spot

Image
After beating Nasarawa United 2-1 in Port Harcourt, Dolphins returned to the top four and are now 2 nd on the table. Two goals from top scorer, Emem Eduok in the 25 th and 69 th minute and one from Nasarawa United captain, Debekeme Tamarakuno was all the game had to offer in a rainy encounter. The heavens opened up at the start of the game and rained until the half time whistle sounded then opened up fiercely as soon the 2 nd half kicked off this time making the game almost unplayable though the referee did not stop the match even once. Nasarawa United’s head coach, Baba Ganaru blamed the rainy pitch for their inability to get a result but said he did not protest because he thought the referee would be wise enough to call off the game. “It was not a bad game, especially in the first half but the second half was not a football match because there was no decent play from either of us due of the rain and the pitch. “I actually thought the referees would ...
