Western Nigeria Football Forum honour Ogunjobi

Arrangements have been concluded by the Western Nigeria Football Forum (WNFF) to hold a symposium in honour of late Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi. According to the first Vice-President of Nigeria Football Federation, and coordinator WNFF Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, the symposium with the theme: 'celebrating the life and times of Ogunjobi' will hold on Wednesday March 13, at the indoor sports hall of Lekan Salami Satdium Adamasingba, Ibadan. Akinwunmi further informed that former NFF President Alhaji Sani Lulu, Amaju Pinnick, Gbolagade Busari, Segun Odegbami, Ade Somefun, Gboyega Makinde, and Elder Bode Oyewole, among others will give tributes at the event expected to have commissioner for sports in Oyo and Osun as Special Guest of honour. Former Secretary General Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi, has congratulated Amaju Melvin Pinnick, after he emerged victorious in the 2018 NFF Elective Congress held in Katsina State on Thursday. Ogunjobi alongside Aminu Maigari lost to the incumbent President, who became the first Nigerian to win a back to back election in 37 years. 62 teams jostle for Ogunjobi Cup

Sixty - two (62) grassroots teams in the State of Osun will contest for the third edition of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi Football Tournament for U-13, U-15 and U-18. The age grade tournament is sponsored by former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation and organized by State of Osun Football Association to boost discovery of exceptional talents abounding at the grassroots, catching them young in a bid to provide a well defined future for the players. The tourney is scheduled to kick off proper on Sunday July 22, 2018 at Oshogbo Township Stadium, with the finals billed for August 21, to celebrate the birth date of the State of Osun Pillar of Sports. Former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi, will be installed as the ‘Pillar of Sports' in the State of Osun on Sunday October 29, 2017 by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN Osun chapter, at Atlantis Civic Event Centre, Oshogbo. ‘Osun SWAN Sports Merit Awards’ is aimed at celebrating those who have rendered outstanding services to the development of sports in the country and beyond. Arrangements have been concluded for the second edition of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi Golden Cup, scheduled to kick-off on Saturday July 1, at the Oshogbo Township Stadium. Thirty-two grassroots teams in the State of Osun, registered for the tourney and the preliminary matches would commence on Saturday, with the final scheduled for August 21, to celebrate the former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, date-of-birth. The competition has been rebranded and aims for this year is to scout for players for under 17 that will represent the State of Osun, at the upcoming South-West U-17 tournament. State of Osun Governor, Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, has appointed former Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi, as his Special Assistant on Football Matters. Aregbesola noted that Ogunjobi's appointment was based on merit and the conviction that his wealth of experience and contributions would add value to the efforts of his administration to impact positively on the lives of the people of the state through football.
