MATCH REPORT: Ajayi Hands 3SC Second Home Win

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC)  defeated Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) reigning champions Kano Pillars 1-0 in Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium in the rescheduled game of Match Day 3.



Dream Team VI forward, Junior Ajayi scored the only goal of the nervy encounter in the 11th minutes of play when he collected a pass from Rasheed Olabiyi ,he turned inside his marker and put the ball beyond the goalkeeper with a terrific finish.



Two minutes after the first goal, Shobowale cuts inside from the right, he pulled the trigger with a left-footed effort, but his shot went over the cross bar.



Shobowale and Tony Edjomariegwe were a torn in the flesh for Shooting Stars, they troubled the home team defence with swift dribbles and runs, but 3SC defenders stood tall to deny them of their chances.




Few minutes to end first 45 minutes, Tony ghosts past two Shooting defenders, squared out the ball but non of his teammate was there to apply a finishing touch on the ball. First half ended with 1-0 lead for the Oluyole Warriors.



Second 45 minutes began with Shooting Stars creating some goalscoring opportunities, Adeniyi's flying header went off target in the 47th minute, Nojeem Olukokun pushed forward as he cushioned the ball over Pillars goalkeeper, Usman made a goal-line clearance to deny 3SC the second goal of the day.




Rabiu Ali tried a shot from the 25 yard in the 58 minutes, 3SC goalkeeper Biodun Akande tipped the ball to safety. Pillars went on to dominate possessions, controlled the midfield area with Rabiu, Eneji Otekpa stringing passes. Ajayi nearly got his brace in the 85 minutes when he skipped past Pillars goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed but the hosts failed to make the chance count. Pillars had a big chance in the 89th minuth, Shobowale passes the ball to Abdul, Abdul to Ezekiel Mba who blasted the ball over the goal post.



The homers claimed the full points and moved six places up the log from the bottom of the table to 14th spot with seven points from six league matches while Kano Pillars occupied the 11th spot with 9 points from seven league games.
