Peace, Ideye Play Down Al Gharafa Deal

West Bromwich Albion forward, Brown Aide Ideye and club chairman Jeremy Peace have kicked against speculations linking the striker to Al Gharafa.

The Nigeria International has failed to live up to expectations at Hawthorns after joining the team in what appeared to many as a mega transfer deal from his former club Dynamo Kiev.

Some section of the media have reported that West Brom were on the verge of offloading Ideye to Al Gharafa in Qatar for  €5 (3.8m) way down from a €10 purchased price last summer.

But Ideye insisted that he is still a West Brom player that he's not aware of the said transfer deal, he added that he has not been doing what he knows how to do best which is scoring goals at ease, he opined that he can't just turn his back at the club now.

"I'm still a West Bromwich Albion player, don't know where that news about me leaving WBA came from.

"Have not started doing what I know how to do best, so I can just leave WBA like that," the Super Eagles player disclosed through his official twitter handle @officialldeye.

A report from club website also revealed that the club Peace discounted the speculation which had rumbled throughout the day linking Brown with a move to Qatari club Al Gharafa.

"There is no deal and Brown remains an Albion player," said Peace.
