Pyagbara Dedicates Sharks Away Win To Governor Wike
Christian Pyagbara’s 24th minute goal was Sharks FC needed to record their first away win of the season.
The goal which was a delight to watch, had Pyagbara dribbled past three Kwara United players before Shooting a powerful grounder beyond the reach of Kwara Utd goalie Ayelesu.
The lads from Port Harcourt would have doubled the lead for the agility of the goal keeper.
Kwara United had a golden opportunity to even things up when the Centre Referee,Mohammed Sule from Adamawa state awarded a penalty against Sharks after Ofem Onah was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box but the resultant was balloon into the sky by Dare Ojo in the 41st minute.
The first half ended one goal in favour of the visitors and on the resumption of play in the second half, Kwara Utd swamped on Sharks in search for the equalizer and they almost paid for it as Ayelesu was forced to make save after save following Sharks Fc counter attack.
On the 89th minute Aziz Babalola sent the fans into a frenzy when he headed what could have been the equalizer for the fans but their excitement did not last for long as the second assistant Referee’s Flag was already up for an offside position.
Scorer of the goal that separated both sides,Christian Pyagbara expressed delight,scoring the goal that has taken his team out from the bottom of the league table.
Pyagbara also dedicated the victory to the number fan of the team, His Excellency,Governor Nyesom Wike for acknowledging that the team is being owed sign on fees for the 2013/2014 season.
He added that it was this acknowledgement that fired them up to picking their first away win of the season and promised His Excellency that Sharks will not be relegated at the end of the season.
“My brother I am very happy scoring the only goal of the match, at least We can now heave a sigh of relief because Sharks is no longer at the bottom of the league and by his grace we will not return there”
“Let me on behalf of the team, dedicate our first away win of the season to our sports loving Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike who did not only effected payment of backlog salaries but also acknowledged that government is still owing us sign on fees for 2013/2014 season even though He was not the Governor then”. Pyagbara said
“And I want to assure His Excellency that We will still be in the elite league because that is the only way we can encourage Him to do more for the team.
