Prime Compound Bussdor's Relegation Woes

Bussdor Football Club of Owerri, chances of remaining in the Nigeria National League suffered a major blow when they lost 1-0 to Prime Football Club on Saturday, a result that leaves them at the bottom of the table log.

The Owerri side started the Nigeria National League Week 8 tie strongly and managed to win a couple of possession in the early minutes of the game, but poor shooting on the part of the forwards did not help their course.

The Omoluabi Giants step into the game with Abdullah Fatai, Hakeem Olalere and wonderkid, Kehinde Adebayo, exerted their presence in the game and took control of proceedings. They over-powered the midfield but could not find the breakthrough as Bussdor goalkeeper, Jatto Chukwudi, did so well with incredible saves off Damola Fakayode and Robert Ogundu, strikes.

Prime substitute striker, Olawale Bello, broke the deadlock in the 60th minute via goal-mouth scramble and that goal turned out to be the match winner.

Bussdor were proactive after going behind and dominated proceedings, pilled pressure on Prime in search for the equalizer. They created chances, but the defence of Prime were too strong to beat.

Prime, celebrated the win which keeps them level on points with second-placed Ikorodu United, and two points behind Crown on course for a promotion ticket to the Globacom Premier League.
