NWPL: Abdul Sule Salutes Confluence Queens' Fighting Spirit

Chairman of Confluence Queens FC, Mallam Abdul Sule has praised his girls for their come back victory over Bayelsa Queens in their Week Eight of Nigeria Women Premier League clash in Lokoja.

The away side took a shocking lead in the 4th minutes through Charity Ifenkoh's free-kick that beat helpless goalkeeper Oluwaseun Bello.

Confluence Queens however pegged back with a classic finish from striker Lola Philips in the 20th minutes of play.

Midfielder Ameachi Ojini makes another quick impact in the 22nd minutes to put Confluence Queens in front as she slammed in a shot from close range.

Goalkeeper Bello Oluwaseun miss-calculated in the extra minute of first half and Rafiat Sule forced her to pay for her errors with first half ended 2-2.

Captain Aishat Bello sealed the victory for the Wada Queens in the 77th when capitalizing on a defensive error from Bayelsa Queens' defender.

Reacting to the victory, Chairman of the Confluence State club, Mallam Abdul Sule commended his girls for their relentless effort and fight which he described as a motivation to go into their next match.

"It's a hard earned victory for us today, the team gave a good fight for us to win, it was very deserved win I will say, I must commend the girls for the fighting spirit they showed," begins Sule.


"The first half wasn't that ok, but they showed a zeal that wants to do well in the league, we hope this will motivate them as we looked forward to our next game on Wednesday," he sad.

Confluence Queens have however picked seven points from five games, and will next take on Delta Queens on wednesday in Lokoja in a continuation of the NWPL season.
