After years of agonizing moments for Nigerian Football fans, all over the world under the former Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen in his interim capacity, has done what many believed will end in shame but the ex-player has turned things around.

The Nigerian team have qualified for the Round of 16 of the 33rd African Cup of Nations, after claiming victories in all their Group D games, with a remarkable win over Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau scoring six goals, conceding just only one goal.

Eguavoen’s teammate, Austin Okocha who was on Supersport noted that coach, has not been fielding players in their desired positions.

“I’d like to see the coach play players in their right positions,” Okocha said on Super Sports.

“Iwobi became a better player when he took over the No.10 from Kelechi Iheanacho”.

Okocha should concentrate on the punditry job and allow Eguavoen, to do the job of coaching the team, because this is not the time to fault or talk down the technical abilities of the coaches.

For the commendable job that Augustine and his technical crew, has done with the team in less 40 days, since they took charge, they need to supported by well-meaning Nigerians.
