See What This FIFA Licensed Agent Said About Nigerian Players
Kaduna-born FIFA Licensed agent, Mohammed Lawal has let the cat out of the bag as he revealed what a lot of people don't know about Nigerian Players.
The former Iwuanyanwu Nationale player disclosed in an interview on Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece platform yesterday, May, 8, 2020 that it is very difficult to work with Nigerian players stating that majority of them are not honest.
He said: "One of the difficult things when handling Nigerian players, is that Nigerian players are never honest.
"You can take a player today to Europe no one knows him, he doesn't know how much you work, how hard you work, he gets there he doesn't know anybody except you but the moment he starts progressing, you will find out he's no more straight forward with you.
"He is getting attention form other agents from other people back there in Europe, people that wouldn't had none him with you and then you see he starts playing funny pranks on you and all that".
Mohammed further added that loyalty is a big problem in Nigeria Football that he wished Nigerian players can be honest in their dealings.
"I wish Nigerian players are very honest and straight forward. Loyalty is one thing lacking in Nigeria football. Nigerian Footballers and loyalty they are separate. There are very few exceptions, they are few players you find here and there but as the saying goes majority carries the vote. Majority of them are not just straight forward.
"A Nigerian player can be dealing with five players at the same time, I don't understand and it's a very bad situation that we all find ourself.
“I have been in this path for a very long time, I have worked with a lot of them who are big Stars in Nigeria, I co-manage then with people, but now you find the attitude is not just right, the personality of Nigeria players is not just it,” he said.
Mohammed Lawal has worked with over 25 players since he retired from professional football as a footballer. Currently, he manages Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Sadiq Umar, James Okwuosa, Chukwuemeka Ihunnanua, Nura Abdullahi Alhaji Gero et all.
