Abia Comets: Ibrahim Olawoyin is still our player

Nigeria National League side, Abia Comets Football Club have made it clear that they have not released exciting player Ibrahim Olawoyin, to any club.

Abia Warriors signed the 18-year-old gifted player on loan at the start of the 2018/19 season and scored three goals against Yobe Desert Stars, FC Ifeanyiubah and Heartland FC for the Umuahia Warriors.

He did not score in the first round, but eventually emerged as one of the most consistent performers for Abia Warriors last term in his first ever season in the topflight.

From the reign of Henry Makinwa to the return of Emmanuel Deutsch, the Osun state-born sensation started all but one of Abia Warriors’ 22 matches.

The winger was recently spotted training at Enugu Rangers camp and has scored some goals for them in pre season games.

Abia Comets President Victor Nwakama said that his team loaned Ibrahim Olawoyin to Abia Warriors and was told to return after the completion of his loan.

Nwakama has come out to confirm that Olawoyin still has a running contract at the club.

“Who said that Ibrahim Olawoyin had left Abia Comets? He is still a play of Comets following the expiration of his loan spell at Abia Warriors. He has a running contract and unless a team comes for his services and we agree terms, he remains part of our plans,” Nwakama enthused.
