Odey dangles cash on former teammates to beat Enyimba

Stephen Odey has promised his former MFM FC teammates cash incentive ahead of the Matchday 13 fixture in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) against Enyimba International FC on Sunday.

The Olukoya Boys who are yet to drop a point at home this season will welcome the People's Elephant to the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium this afternoon as they look forward to claiming their first-ever victory against the seven-time NPFL champions.

Odey revealed in an interview with nigeriasportsarena.blogspot.com why he has decided to boost his former team ahead of the big game against the Aba-based team.

“I remember when I was still playing in the NPFL, Enyimba’s game has always been a difficult one for us both on home and away soil. I was lucky to score a goal against them the last time we played them.

“I may not be with MFM FC but the team is always on my mind and beating Enyimba today will mean a lot to the team and it will go along way in helping the team to finish well, hence the reason behind the kind gesture.

“The money is a token but I believe it will motivate the team. I will be happy to see the team beat Enyimba today,” he stated.

The Olukoya Boys who have gathered 22 points from 12 NPFL games are sitting comfortably atop of the Group A table ahead of Enyimba who are second with 19 points.
