Akwa United home defeat: Olorunleke beg fans

Akwa United goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke has tendered a heartwarming apology to the Supporters and Fans of his team following his costly mistake against El-kanemi Warriors on Sunday in Uyo.

El-kanemi claimed a vital 1-0 away win in one of the opening fixtures of the 2018/19 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played yesterday at the Godswil Akpabio Stadium for the first time in four years against the Promise Keepers with Ba'akaka Ajikolo bagging the only goal after benefiting from an error committed by Olorunleke.

With less than a minute to wrap up the game, Ojo took the team’s burden upon himself and pushed forward for a counter, beating his first opponent before over stretching the ball to midfield but he was dispossessed of possession and the visitors immediately spread the ball wide to Ajikolo and the substitute scored with a well tailored curling effort from 45 yards.

Ojo on Monday morning posted on his Facebook account an unreserved apology message to Akwa United, Supporters and Fans.
