Akila described MFM FC versus Akwa United match 'important game'

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries teenage striker, Akila Jesse has described Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 8 rescheduled fixture involving his team and Akwa United important match.

The 2018 CAF Champions League campaigner will host Akwa United today (Friday) at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium in a game that promises to be highly entertaining but one of MFM FC new recruits, Akila believes the encounter is more than just a game.

"Akwa United is a very big team and that's why the match is a very big match for us aside from it being a very big match it's also an important match for us because we need to take all the three points" Akila stated.

The teenager who has netted twice this season for MFM FC in his first five NPFL games with an assist to his name says victory from the game will boost his team's confidence level ahead of the return leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round one match against AS Real Bamako.

"Looking at our position on the log, we are quite down and we need these three points so that our confidence level can be high going into the CAF Champions League match coming up on Tuesday. 

"We need this victory and that's why it's a very important match for us," the Jos-born striker concluded.

The Uyo-based team are currently top of the league standings with 16 points from seven NPFL matches. MFM FC on the other hand are 17th on log with nine points. A win for them will take the team to a better position on the 20-team NPFL table.
