Newcastle United, Watford, Monchenglabach, Rennes and some other top European clubs, battle over Kayode

The reward for hard work as the saying goes, is success.

There cannot be any better way to sum up the achievements of Super Eagles and Austria Wien striker Kayode Olanrewaju whose recent club exploits has caught the attention of some of Europe's finest clubs.

The latest in his long list of potential suitors is Belgian Jupiler league side FC Brugge who alongside Rennes of France are the new entrants, in a long list of interested buyers queueing up for the signature of former Maccabi Natanya of Israel striker.

Kayode is the hottest striker in the Austrian Bundesliga this season having scored 17 league goals with 8 assists to his name as he sits top of the goal scorers chart, one better than home boy Deni Alar of table toppers Salzburg.

The former Nigerian youth international increased his tally for the season to 17 when he scored the second goal for the Vienna based club, in their 2-3 home defeat to Salzburg on Thursday. That did not however deter club coach Thorsten Finks from releasing him to join up with the rest of his National team mates ahead of the international friendly match with Togo in Paris.

Meanwhile, after the game on Thursday Kayode thanked the fans, his team mates and the club for all the support as he looks forward to a whole new challenge elsewhere, next season.

"Finally it ended in praise. Thank God for my goal, 17 league goals. Thank you Austria Wien management, thank you my coaches, thank you my team mates and thank you my super fans. Am grateful to you all and for making my stay here, enjoyable"..#Lk8😉

Before departing for Paris however, the player, his manager and club, will first have to decide which among the plethora of available suitors will secure his services for next season.

Newly promoted English premier league side Newcastle United leads a strong list that includes, Watford also of England, Rennes of France, Borussia Monchenglabach of Germany, Spartak Moscow of Russia and an unnamed suitor from Turkey.

A close confident to Kayode who confirmed the story said, a decision on where the player will ply his trade next season will be taken in the next couple of days even as she revealed that an agreement with one of the aforementioned clubs could be reached on Friday before the player leaves for Paris.

Kayode has spent the last two seasons, banging in the goals for Wien and victory in their last game, this weekend, will all but secure a UEFA champions league spot as they will finish second on the log behind table toppers Salzburg.

Unfortunately, Kayode will not be around to savour that moment with team mates because after the friendly with Togo, he will return to Nigeria hopefully for the match with South Africa on June 10 in Uyo before going on pre-season with his new club.
