Almar players, officials, gets #.2m for Ogun FA feat

Oluwaseun Ogunribide's goal won the Ogun State FA Cup for Nationwide League One side, Almar Football Club against JCTC Football Club in a low-key final at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

Ogunribide half volley from a right side cross by Sheu Fagbemi, in the 65th minute was enough for the NLO side to lift the coveted trophy.

Almar were runners up in last year's edition, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in the hands of Gateway United Football Club.

JCTC FC enjoyed possession but rarely posed a serious threat, and Almar held on to claim the trophy for the first time.

It was a personal triumph for emotional Almar President Dare Aleibiosu, who rewarded his team wholesomely with cash of #200, 000 for winning the Ogun State FA Cup on Sunday.

Speaking with newsmen after the game, the astute football administrator expressed satisfaction with his players performance and urged his charges to remain focused ahead of future hostilities.

He stated further that the young lads need to be encouraged hence they are doing well.

“I’m highly excited with my boys performances, playing in the state cup finals and winning the trophy is not easy.

"I am happy the boys were able to display their God given talent and I believe we have a bright future in Nigeria football," he said.
