Kogi United Feeders get Petersen for Dana Cup

In a bid to achieve their target at the upcoming Dana Cup competition in Denmark, Kogi United Feeders have contracted a former FC Roskilde Coach, Frank Lauren Petersen.

The 48 year old Petersen will be working with other coaches of Feeders team to put the team in better shape for the competition slated for July this year.

Chairman of Kogi United, Confluence Queens and the Feeders, Mallam Abdul Sule who confirmed the development noted that Mr Petersen - a former goalkeeper- was expected to arrive Nigeria in March and would also take the time to train goalkeepers of the state clubs during his stay in the country.

"We have contracted Mr Petersen for the Dana Cup competition and he will also help to train our goalkeepers of Kogi United, Confluence Queens and the entire Feeder club during his stay," Sule begins.

"His experience and track records attracted us to him, we hope he would help us get the boys (Feeder team) ready technically and mentally for the Cup competition in Denmark and of course bring his wealth of experience as a well known keeper to bear for the goalkeepers.

"We are also expected top scouts from Denmark and other top European countries around to scout for the New Direction Boys, all these were achieved as a result of His Excellency's passion and love for sports, and we strongly believe a lot of young boys would be empowered through the Dana Cup," he said.

Frank Petersen have had experience coaching in Africa with top clubs in Swaziland and Mozambique.

He's coached at Esterela Vermelha, Favela United both at Mozambique and also had a stint with the Academia de futebol talento do futuro also in Mozambique.

The 2017 Dana Cup - a competition that has been empowering and uniting young soccer players from all around the World- will take place by July 24 in Denmark.
