Mbia on 2018 World Cup mission with Belinga
Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) on Friday, 30th of October named Alexander Belinga as interim coach to replace sacked German Volker Finke as he look forward to booking a place at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup with African Best Nominee, captain Stephane Etoundi Mbia.
The German was appointed in May 2013 but his performance had come in for strong criticism after stream of poor results.
Having spent close to two years under coach Volker Finke as a captain, Mbia will be looking forward to steer the Indomitable Lion to their 8th World Cup outing under Alexandre Belinga as they flag up their qualifying campaign against Niger Republic on November 15.
The President of Cameroon the Fecafoot, Tombi A Roko, said that fellow Cameroonian Bonaventure Djonkep would be Belinga's assistant.
Experienced Mbia won the last two edition of Europa Cup with Sevilla of Spain, his wealth of experience of the round lethal game will go a long way in helping coach Belinga to land Cameroon their 8th World Cup experience with the support of other top notch quality players in the young Cameroonian squad.
