Prime Rue Missed Chances In Ekiti Utd Defeat, Commends Match Officials

Prime Football Club missed good opportunity to secure their first away victory on Saturday against Ekiti United Football Club, as the team missed glaring chances to bury the game in the first half of the Week 9 fixture of the Nigeria National League (NNL)

The Omoluabi Giants made a strong start to the game quickly finding themselves and they could not capitalized on some good forward play in the most part of the game.

Prime attackers, Robert Ogundu and Wale Bello, missed hatful of chances in front of goal.

Ekiti United winger, Tosin Olabode, scored the consolatory goal, in the 52 minutes.

Prime media officer, Tunde Shamsudeen, while speaking with pressmen after the game at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti, stated that it could have been a different story had his side converted their opportunities.

“It was painful we lost the game, we had our chances but, failed to convert them and teams who do not make the most of their scoring opportunities end up paying for it,” he stated.

“We missed glorious chances that would have kept us in the game, but we’re wasteful in front of goal. We attacked so well and I believe we should have won the game, but, I must commend the officiating officials (Winjobi Ayodeji, Adeyeye B.A, and Idris Kosoko), this is the best officiating we have gotten at away in recent time.”

The former Anambra United spokesperson said his side recognized the importance of their next game at home against Ikorodu United next Saturday at the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Sports Complex.

“We just have to beat Ikorodu United to regain our confidence, that is not going to be easy, but victory against Ikorodu United is the goal now and everyone in the team knows that.”
