Olatunbosun Delighted With His 11th NNL Goal

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club (MFM FC) forward Olatunbosun Sikiru netted his 11th goal of the season on Saturday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos when MFM FC defeated Gateway FC 2-1 in week 25 of the Nigeria National League(NNL) encounter.

Fidelis Ilechukwu side got on the score sheet in the early minutes of the game when Akueto Chidi put the host in front as he tap in a low cross from his team mate, the first 45 minutes ended with MFM FC taking the lead into the half time.Second half resumed  with Gateway pushing hard for an equaliser as they went forward with precision thereby forcing MFM defence to their defence line.

The church team put themselves together string few passes, Sikiru was connected upfront and he pulled the trigger from outside the box with a curling shot with his left foot and found the back of the net. Shortly after his goal, Henry Nwosu men got a consolation goal  through Gbamgbose Rasheed. Game ended 2-1 in a favour of MFM.

Speaking after the game the club top scorer said he was excited to bang in his 11th goal of the season and wishes to be crowned NNL goal king at the end of the season.

"I have waited for awhile now for this goal to come and I'm happy that it came when we needed it the most because Gateway really gave us tough time but thank God for God who crowned our efforts with this victory.

"It was my second goal in the second stanza of the NNL, I scored nine in the first half before we went for World Cup break, my target is to help my team gain promotion to the elite league and win something for myself,  maybe the NNL top scorer gong," he enthused.

MFM now occupied the 3rd position on the Division B table with 39 points from 25 matches, two points adrift league leaders, 3SC. They will be travelling to Ibadan to play Shooting Stars in their next league game.
