Emem Eduok Powers Dolphins To Third Spot

After beating Nasarawa United 2-1 in Port Harcourt, Dolphins returned to the top four and are now 2 nd on the table. Two goals from top scorer, Emem Eduok in the 25 th and 69 th minute and one from Nasarawa United captain, Debekeme Tamarakuno was all the game had to offer in a rainy encounter. Koboko Ruled Out Of The Season

Austin Fractured a bone in his shin late in the game against Warri Wolves on Wednesday at the Warri City Stadium in match day 28 of the Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL). Incidentally, until further test reveal, it seems like the same fracture that kept him out for a full year. The game against Warri Wolves was his first start since he fractured his shin against Wikki Tourists on October 30, 2013. He was taken out of the stadium in an ambulance as soon as the incident occurred late in the game for first aid and preliminary care and on return to Port Harcourt was taken straight to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. After one year out with that fracture, Austin returned as a late substitute in the 2-1 loss to Rangers last week before starting against Warri Wolves where it re-occurred. Nembe City To Pay N500,000 Fine, Banished To Benin

Following the inconclusive match day 27 fixture of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) duel between Nembe City and Lobi Stars of Makurdi at the Kridera Stadium, Omoku, Rivrs State. The League Management Company (LMC) on Thursday ruled that Nembe City will play their next three home matches in Benin.These decisions and others including a financial fine on Nembe City. The LMC found that the match was discontinued as a result of fans invading the pitch in protest of extra time penalty awarded by the center Referee against Nembe City. A good hearted Libreville-based Nigerian businessman, Chief George Uche, has offered a handsome cash reward to the Golden Eaglets if they win next weekend's African Under-17 Championship finale qualifying match against Gabon. Uche who owns a thriving freight business in the Gabonese capital said he was impressed with the performance of the team despite the odds placed before them before their 1-2 loss to Gabon on Sunday hence the reason behind the dinner reception he hosted before their departure. Dolphins Trio To Miss Rangers Game

The trio of Emmmanuel Olowo, Pius Ibrahim and Emeka Atuloma will not be in action for Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt as they play Enugu Rangers this afternoon at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium  in one of the biggest games of the match day 26 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). Emmanuel Olowo stays out of the Dolphins team to play Rangers on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 as he is yet to regain match fitness after being given time off to prepare for his wedding. Pius Ibrahim is also not anywhere near the team as he is recovering from illness. Nigeria's Under-17 team, Golden Eaglets, were beaten 2-1 by Gabon on Sunday in their Final Round-First Leg 2015 African Under-17 Championship qualifier at the Stade Augustin Monedan de Sibang in Libreville, but head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke believes that the poor officiating in that game, and the travelling arrangement contributed to the defeat. Speaking after the match Amuneke said "the boys gave their best under the circumstances that we found ourselves especially the difficult travelling arrangement which caused fatigue especially in the second half," explained Coach Emmanuel Amuneke. "But with all sense of responsibility, the officiating of this match was poor but we have to put this behind us and focus on the second leg. Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club (MFM FC) forward Olatunbosun Sikiru netted his 11th goal of the season on Saturday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos when MFM FC defeated Gateway FC 2-1 in week 25 of the Nigeria National League(NNL) encounter. Fidelis Ilechukwu side got on the score sheet in the early minutes of the game when Akueto Chidi put the host in front as he tap in a low cross from his team mate, the first 45 minutes ended with MFM FC taking the lead into the half time.Second half resumed  with Gateway pushing hard for an equaliser as they went forward with precision thereby forcing MFM defence to their defence line. Obafemi Martins Hit 13th MLS Goal In Sounders Victory

Super Eagles forward, Obafemi Martins was among the goal scorers for his Major League Soccer (MLS) side Seattle Sounder when they hosted Real Salt Lake on Friday night at home in match day 27 of the MLS, game ended 3-2 in favour of the Sounders.
