Olafiranye Sports Foundation To Reward Best Behaved Player, Team, Referee At Optima Energy Gold Cup

President of Olafiranye Sports Foundation, Alhaji Olafiranye Olayiwola will gift cash rewards and plaques to deserving behaved player and team at the ongoing Optima Energy Gold Cup.

Olafiranye Sports Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Osogbo, Osun State has identified with Nigeria's most glamourious domestic pre-season tourney brand, who's hosting its 11th edition at the Remo Stars International Stadium and FC Ebedei Stadium in Apele-Sagamu, with the behavioural award.

Olafiranye, a philanthropists and former Chairmanship candidate in the last Osun State Football Association election, noted why his sports foundation has chosen reward excellence based on behavioural reactions on the field of play.

"From the positive talks with the General Coordinator of the Optima Energy Gold Cup,  Tunde Shamsudeen, my foundation will be rewarding exceptional behavioural qualities seen from a football talent and team during the 10-day tournament with cash and plaque.

"The categories that we'll be rewarding is the Best Behaved Player of the Tournament, Best Referee and Best Behaved Team of the Optima Energy Gold Cup.

"The essence is to appreciate such individuals and team, as fans of all ages, sex, tribe and religion who are passionate about the beautiful round leather game, learn from the good attitudes displayed by these stars and teams during games.

"Lives out there can be changed, as many fans see these players as role models. When they show violence during matches, it sends a wrong message to fans as little as kids.

"So what the Olafiranye Sports Foundation intend to achieve with the award plus the cash token is to change attitude and behaviour and moral decredence among our fast growing youths, who are keys to our future. "

The awards and cash will be presented to deserving winners and team on the final of the Optima Energy Gold Cup on Saturday August 19, 2023.
