Junior Ajayi Completes Smouha Three Years Deal

Egyptian top side, Smouha FC, have completed the signing of former Al Ahly’s Nigerian winger Junior Ajayi on a three-year deal, from Libyan side Al-Nasr Benghazi.


The 26-year-old signed for Al Ahly in 2016 from Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien, after having won the Olympic bronze medal with Nigeria.


He made a total of 161 games for the club, scoring 41 goals while providing 30 assists, and became a fan favourite, having guided the club to two CAF Champions Leagues, four league titles, two Egypt Cups, and two Egypt Super Cups.



Moreover, Ajayi was part of the Al Ahly team that won the 2021 Club World Cup bronze medal, netting a penalty against Palmeiras in the third-placed playoff.


As his short deal with Al Nasr came to an end this July, Ajayi will now return to Egypt through Smouha on a free transfer after signing a three-year contract.


Ajayi becomes Smouha’s third summer signing after deals for Asmadat Abou Kheir defender Mahmoud El Malek and Ahmed Hussein from El-Nasr.

FIFA Hit Banik Ostrava With Transfer Ban Over 36 Lion's Outstanding Transfer Fees

FIFA have sent the Czech Football Association a letter in which they slammed a transfer ban on Banik Ostrava as a result of outstanding dues to 36 Lion Football Club. The ban will only be lifted when Banik pay the outstanding dues they owe the Lagos based club for the transfer of Tijani Muhamed on 1st July 2023. The letter received didn’t specify the number of transfer windows that Banik will be banned from, but only clarified that it is due to the former Flying Eagles striker deal with the Czech Republic top flight team. Muhamed, 23, is a product of 36 Lion. He joined Slavia Praha from Banik during last summer's transfer window for €1.26m according to Transfermkt.com.
