Bukola Olopade To Be Installed As Osi Asoju Oba Of Egba Land

Illustrious Egba Sons and daughters, sport administrators, former and current political office holders, captains of industry and people from different walks of life will storm the ancient city of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Friday, June 24, 2022 as prominent Egba Son, and former commissioner for sports in Ogun State, Bukola Olopade, will be installed as the Osi Asoju Oba of Egbaland.


His wife, Mrs. Yetunde Olopade will also be conferred with the title "Erelu Osi Asoju Oba of Egbaland", by the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Dr. Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (CFR), Okukenu the 4th.


The installation ceremony is scheduled to take place at the historical palace of the Monarch, starting from 10am.


Guests will be entertained at the event centre of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), starting from 1pm.


Tolu Obey, son of music icon, Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi will thrill the teaming guests to a top notch celebration.


Hon. Olopade was the sports custodian in the Gateway state when the state hosted what is adjudged, the best National Sports Festival ever, in 2006.


Through his company, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, the soon to be installed Osi Asoju Oba of Egbaland is known for his giant strides in sport, particularly road races in the country.


He is the brain behind the prestigious silver labelled Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, the Abeokuta 10KM Race, the Remo Ultra Race, the Ijebu Heritage Half Marathon, among other notable events across Nigeria.

FIFA Hit Banik Ostrava With Transfer Ban Over 36 Lion's Outstanding Transfer Fees

FIFA have sent the Czech Football Association a letter in which they slammed a transfer ban on Banik Ostrava as a result of outstanding dues to 36 Lion Football Club. The ban will only be lifted when Banik pay the outstanding dues they owe the Lagos based club for the transfer of Tijani Muhamed on 1st July 2023. The letter received didn’t specify the number of transfer windows that Banik will be banned from, but only clarified that it is due to the former Flying Eagles striker deal with the Czech Republic top flight team. Muhamed, 23, is a product of 36 Lion. He joined Slavia Praha from Banik during last summer's transfer window for €1.26m according to Transfermkt.com.
