NFF ELECTION: Why NFF Congressmen Should Reelects Ahmed Yusuf Fresh

Football is undoubtedly the major component of Sports in our Dear country Nigeria, that unify its people regardless of any cultural, ethnic, religion diversity due to the way it is Worship herein.

Football in Niger State was nearing state of moribund before the emergence of this present Executives of Niger State Football Association led by Ahmed Yusuf Fresh came into power in 2004.

Who is Ahmed Yusuf Fresh?

Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, is a man who does not have television his dreams, but has vision in his goals and tasks himself to move Niger State Football Association forward.

Before 2004 Niger State FA Elections:

The youths of Power State (Niger State)  were never engaged in what can give hope to their dreams in terms of programs that would allow raw talents (Footballers) visualise their prospects and their quests to be professional footballers.

Ahmed Fresh, not just as Chairman but as a team player deliberated with his Executives and other football stakeholders in Niger state on how to harness football talents in their domain and councils, which brought about the creation of Muck Cup in 2005.

1. Idea of Muck Cup, by Fresh:

Literally, Muck means slimy mud which is a mixture of water and soil or fine grained sediment.

Fresh believed football talents are seen in the above area thus, Muck Tournament was designed to help the Niger State develop Amateur individuals clubs which includes Niger Tornadoes Feeders, Black Stars, Lion Golden and other clubs that fall in such category.

This Muck tourney heeded positives as teams now used it as pre-season program before the Amateur leagues kick started to be worth representatives from Niger State knowing that they are under the umbrella of Fresh's Niger FA Board. Historically, they began to challenge for Diadems in the Amateur Leagues.

2. Governor's Cup Re-branded in 2006, by Fresh:

Prior to Fresh's era, the Niger State Governors Cup was existing but not living up to expectations. Fresh as a man that planned not to have anything to repair, restructured Niger State Governor's Cup with 'Fresh' ideology, reorganization from teams that participate and even changed the facade to attracts the Cup donor, top Government dignitaries and what have you.

Since 2006, Niger State Governor's Cup that cut across the 25 Local Governments in Niger State has been a program any Governor of Niger State always support with keen interest given by Fresh and Niger FA Executives transformation of the tournament. The tourney brings about talents discovery, football battles, suspense, emotions from teeming football fans and above all fighting supremacy amongst the participating teams in the Power State of Niger.

This Transformation meant that the Governor's Cup is being hosted by different Local Governments every year, to also allows the Government meet with the citizens at grassroots level through football and help develop the local governments in key areas of their needs.



3.  Creation of Emirates in 2007, by Fresh:

As a supreme leader, Fresh continued to carry along his team and Executives knowing that no man is an Island, here comes Niger Emirate Cup.



As a multi-tasker, the architecture of  Emirate Cup was to be played at least in about five Local Governments out of 25 Areas Football Councils in Niger State, yearly.


The Emirate Cup was designed to assist the Area Football Councils Chairmen in identifying the unseen footballers in their locality.


Fresh Emirate Cup, recorded positive results, discovery and nurturing programs of talented players from Local Governments, covering 18 Local Governments out of 25 in the Power State, Niger.


4. Niger State House of Assembly Speakers Cup, by Fresh in 2008:


Mr Fresh is a man who believes that In life, connections are more vital than corrections. Thus, it was imperative to connect with the lawmakers of Power State, to invest in youths through the Speaker Cup program. Fresh and his transformation team designed the Speakers Cup such that all the Speakers that have led the Niger State House Assembly embraced it and continued to make the Youth Football program laudable with incentives for the participants from all the Local Governments of Power State.


5. The Brain behind Fresh Cup since 2009.

Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh is passion slaved with football, as he created a Youth Program on his name tagged, Fresh Cup.


The Fresh Cup is organized with a format that takes the competition to Area Football Councils of Niger State. Of a truth, the Fresh Cup was not just a success to Ahmed Fresh and Niger FA alone but to the remoted Area Councils of Power State.

The People of Rijau Local Government can never forget the gains associated with Fresh Cup as the program revealed the challenges of Rijau, especially in the area of bad roads. Rijau shares boarders between Niger State, Kebbi State and by extension Sokoto State. With Fresh Cup the challenges were exposed to the Government and by records, the Current Executive Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello has swung into actions to change the remoted Areas of Rijau and its bad roads. What Fresh Cup can impact with football.

6. Fresh Local Government Chairman's Cup in Niger State, surfaced in 2012 till date:

The Local Government chairmen are also not just existing but living and feeling the 'Fresh Air' ambiance beyond their domain. through the inauguration of Fresh Local Government Chairmen's Cup. This is geared towards contributing to grassroots football development with good governance of those Chairmen, it was necessary they have the youths on their side through Fresh football program that landed in the domain of Niger State Local Governments Chairmen.

With reference to the above indices, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh has never stopped to make these programs viable when its due for organisation.

Ahmed Yusuf Fresh is a man that is never bitter about the wrong done to him, but always allowed the right things in himself to him make better in life. He appreciate constructive criticism more.
