Heartland Unveil Former Sunshine Coach As New Technical Adviser

Heartland FC of Owerri on Monday unveiled Coach Erasmus Onuh Olottah as new Technical Adviser following the departure of Kelechi Emeteole who joined Rangers of Enugu at the end of last season.

In a brief but colourful ceremony held at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Owerri, General Coordinator, Oscar Keke who stood in for the General Manager, Prince Okey Ibe, said after painstaking search and considerations, the ‘Naze Millionaires’ have decided to hand the mantle of leadership of the technical crew to Onuh Olottah based on the belief that he would be able to lead the team to a greater height.

Keke said available records showed that Coach Onuh Olottah has been actively involved in the league in the last couple of years which gave him vast knowledge of the league and cognition with many young players all of which are ingredients needed for the team to succeed.

He said Heartland were of the belief that the coach possessed the technical know-how that would enable him lead the team to a desired result which is to win the league and book a continental ticket this coming season.

A symbolic induction ceremony was performed on the coach by Team Manger, Promise Nwachukwu who dressed him with the Heartland regalia of red cap and muffler to signal his entry to the service of Heartland.

Apparently overwhelmed by the reception he received in Owerri, Erasmus Onuh Olottah expressed his happiness at joining Heartland stating that it had been his longtime dream to work with the Naze millionaires.

He promised to use the opportunity given to him to take Heartland back to the continental level where they belonged.

The 54 year-old who hails from Ibaji in Kogi State, assured that Heartland under his technical tutelage, would end the season as one of the most celebrated teams of all times in the country and that he was ready to meet the expectations on him.

The former coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure as well as Jigawa Golden Stars of Hadeja, said he was in tune with the Naze millionaires style of
scientific soccer and the grooming of young players as basic tenets in building a formidable team.

The multi-lingual coach tried to endear himself to the local supporters by speaking in some catchy Igbo Language phrases.

Chairman, Imo State Sports Writers Association (SWAN), John Nwogu and Chairman Heartland Supporters Club,’ Icheku,’ on-behalf of their associations expressed satisfaction at the engagement of the coach and also pledged that their members would support him.
