The National Sports Commission, NSC , has announced the Opening of  Media  Accreditations for the coverage of the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, tagged Gateways Games in Abeokuta, Ogun State, holding from May 16-30th 2025. All interested Media Practitioners are advised to send in their full Names, Medium, Telephone Number, Email Address and a passport photograph to this email address :  Gatewaygames2024media@gmail.com  The Media Accreditation for the Gateway Games has officially opened from Saturday April 12th, 2025 and will officially close on April 19th 2025. NSC Inaugurates Sub-Committees for Gateway Games 2025

As the date for the kick-off of the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games Ogun 2025 draws near, the National Sports Commission (NSC) inaugurated 19 sub-committees to ensure the successful hosting of the event scheduled to hold from May 16 to 30, 2025. Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held today at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the Director General of the NSC, Honourable Bukola Olopade, described the National Sports Festival as Nigeria’s version of the Olympics and a platform through which the nation identifies, nurtures, and develops its best athletes to represent the country at international competitions. He recalled that the Main Organising Committee, inaugurated by the former Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, was tasked with ensuring a hitch-free and successful festival. Director General of the National Sports Commission, NSC , Hon Bukola Olopade has expressed excitement over potential collaboration between the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC Limited and the Sports Commission. The DG stated this after a fruitful strategic meeting held in his office when the newly appointed Chairman of the NNPC Limited, Eng Musa Kida paid him a working visit on Tuesday. SGFC wins Jagaban Cup

SGFC Athletics overcame the challenge posed by 36 Lion to secure the Jagaban Cup title at Legacy Pitch on Thursday morning. The four-day football tournament featured eight teams, with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Ikorodu City narrowly losing 1-0 to Ijebu United in the earlier third-place match. As anticipated, the final between fan favorites 36 Lion and SGFC delivered an exciting spectacle, truly reflecting the spirit of this popular grassroots football championship.
