NFF/Sport Ministry: The Key To Uniting Nigerians Through Football

The rich is no longer comfortable and the poor is finding life even more complicated.  At a time like this, there is need for intervention. ROAD TO QATAR: Orji Kalu Hails Super Eagles After The Stalemate In Kumasi

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has praised the Super Eagles after they held Black Stars of Ghana to a goalless draw, in their 2022 World Cup qualifying playoff first leg in Kumasi. The Eagles battled their host to a stalemate in front of a over 50,000 home fans inside the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday. Reacting to the result, Kalu urged the Eagles to make sure the clinch the World Cup ticket in the second leg. "It was not a bad performance from our boys yesterday. Well done, Super Eagles! Our focus should be the next game here in Abuja. It is a must win for us to be in Qatar. I wish the team all the best," he wrote on facebook. The second leg comes up inside the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.

Sports ministry/media relationship waxing stronger as Dare continues to show love to pen pushers

Fifteen of Nigeria's finest pen pushers joined the long list of sports writers to benefit from the magnanimity of the sports ministry, under the able leadership of Chief Sunday Dare.  Never in history have sports writers enjoyed such cordial relationship with the apex sports governing body in the land. In the recent past, a selected few were handpicked and blessed at intervals but all that has changed since 2019, with the coming of Sunday Dare, a former journalist who understands the need to give priority to media men and women because of the role they play in nation building.  The latest beneficiaries from the ministry's largesse were carefully selected from top media outfits in Lagos state, Rivers state and the federal capital territory. Nigeria's Sports minister Sunday Dare has declared his readiness to lead the Super Eagles to Kumasi, venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup play-off against the Black Stars of Ghana.  Dressed in one of the latest collections of the William Westmancott suit that sits perfectly on a white long sleeve shirt and a red tie to match, the number one sport man in the country arrived the main bowl of the Moshood Abiola stadium flanked to the right by officials of the Nigeria football federation led by chairman of the league management company, Shehu Dikko, and to the left by Super Eagles interim head coach, Augustine Eguaveon.   Dare used the ocassion to encourage the team, reminding them first, of the importance of the world cup ticket to Nigerians and charging them to go all out for maximum points in Kumasi on Friday.  "Let's go and make Ghana work in Kumasi. Tension hit Nigeria football stakeholders as Ghana combs Europe for solid reinforcement

There is palpable fear across board, the smiles on the faces of football stakeholders is gradually disappearing, leaving behind, fear, tension and gloom caused by the uncertainties ahead.       On March 25th, 2022, the fate of a nation will be decided over two legs as the  Super Eagles travel to Cape Coast for the first leg of a crucial world cup qualifier with the Black stars of Ghana and return home to Abuja three.days later to finish up the work they started.    The NFF and Sports Ministry started on a good footing two weeks ago, with the trip to London to emphasize the importance of this match to the players and seek their cooperation in making the world cup dream a reality.  Before that trip, came the good news from Zurich, Switzerland, that world football governing body FIFA has cleared Liecester City forward and former England youth international, Ademola Lookman to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.        Just when it seems Nigeria is one step ahead of Ghana in the buildup
