Odey's lone strike earns FC Zurich victory over FC Luzern

Stephen Odey's 55th minute strike earned FC Zurich a crucial 1-0 home win over FC Luzern on Sunday in match day seven of the ongoing Swiss Super League played at Letzigrund.


Smarting from their 1-0 away triumph against AEK Larnaca FC of Nicosia on Thursday where the Nigerian international made his debut in the UEFA Europa League, FCZ claimed another maximum points to make it three consecutive victory in all competitions.


Odey whose side has been on some good form of late was pleased with the  important win and his fifth goal in eight games from all competition for the city club this season.


"I am very happy that I was able to help the team with my goal, but we still have the victory in the group today, the three points were very important to us and I am glad that we left victorious today," said Stephen to FC Zurich media team.


He completed his remark by saying "another goal another victory. What a moment."


With this win, FCZ now has eleven points from possible 21 in seven league games same as FC Thun and FC St.Gallen who are seating in second and third spot respectively on table.
